FC Barcelona Regal advanced into the EuroLeague Final Four. The Spanish powerhouse held off Panathinaikos in the decisive fifth game of the quarterfinal series. Juan Carlos Navarro (192-G-80) delivered 15 points to pace the hosts. Barcelona did not waste too much time to set their ambitions. They went on a deadly 28:14 run in the opening quarter. Panathinaikos stopped the rot though in the second term. Stephane Lasme (203-F-82, college: Massachusetts) put the Hellenes within 9 points 33:42 with under two minutes remaining in the first half. But Nathan Jawai capped the half with a layup to make it 44:33. The tempo decreased in the third term. The visitors held Barcelona to just 7 points to cut the distance to 8 points 43:51 with ten minutes to go. Diamantidis made it 45:51 early in the fourth quarter. However Juan Carlos Navarro answered with five straight points to restore an 11-point lead for Barcelona. Panathinaikos did not surrender as Jonas Maciulis (199-F/G-85) and Stephane Lasme put the visitors within 6 points 53:59. But Barcelona capped the regulation with five points in a row to seal the winning outcome. Marcelinho Huertas (191-PG-83, agency: Edge Sports) delivered 10 points, while Nathan Jawai added 9 points for the winners. Stephane Lasme answered with 16 points and 7 rebounds for Panathinaikos. Jonas Maciulis had 9 points in the loss.

Olympiacos - Anadolu Efes 82-72
Olympiacos came back from a 12-point deficit in the third quarter to knock down Anadolu Efes in the decisive fifth game of the EuroLeague quarterfinal series. Vassilis Spanoulis (193-G-82, agency: Beo Basket) stepped up with 19 points and 5 assists to pace the Reds in front of 12000 spectators at the Peace and Friendship Stadium in Piraeus. Anadolu Efes overcame the pressure from the Olympiacos fans in the opening quarter to take a 23:21 lead after ten minutes. The Turkish team opened the second frame with 13 points in a row to gain a 36:21 lead. Olympiacos managed to narrow the deficit at 8-point mark at the interval 33:41. Jamon Lukas Gordon (191-SG-84, college: Virginia Tech) and Savanovic restored a 12-point lead for the visitors early in the third term. But Olympiacos answered with a 17:3 run to gain a 52:50 lead. Gonlum capped the third frame with two free throws as Anadolu Efes posted a slim 55:54 advantage. Pero Antic drained a triple to ignite a 7:0 rally from the hosts at the start of the fourth frame. Jamon Lukas Gordon and Shipp gave Anadolu Efes a 67:66 advantage with under five minutes remaining. But Georgios Printezis (206-F-85, agency: FCM) (206-F-85, agency: FCM) came up with key five points for the home side as the Reds grabbed a 73:68 advantage. Shipp and Erden sank just one free throw each in their four attempts and Acie Law punished them on the other end hitting a three-pointer. Georgios Printezis and Vassilis Spanoulis stretched the gap to 8 points 78:70 and Olympiacos hung on to claim victory at the end. Georgios Printezis delivered 15 points and 7 rebounds, while Josh Josh Powell added 9 points for the winners. Jamon Lukas Gordon netted 14 points for Anadolu Efes. Jordan Farmar (188-PG-86, college: UCLA) chipped in 11 points in the loss.
