Croatian Luka Zoric (211-C-84) had an amazing evening in the last round for Unicaja and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 11 (Top 16). The 28-year old center had a double-double of 21 points and twelve rebounds, while his team edged out Real Madrid (#2, 9-2) 77-74. Unicaja maintains the 5th position in Euroleague group E. Unicaja is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 5th lost game this season out of 11 games. It's Zoric's second year at Unicaja and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Luka Zoric averages this season 12.3ppg and 5.2rpg.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 27-year old American point guard Ricky Hickman (189-PG-85) of Maccabi T-A. Hickman impressed basketball fans with 30 points and 2 rebounds. It was enough for Maccabi T-A to edge slightly higher-ranked Khimky (6-5) by 1 point 80-79. Maccabi T-A's 6th position in group F has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 6-5 record is not bad and everything may still change. Hickman is a newcomer at Maccabi T-A and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 13.7ppg (#9). He also recorded 3.0 assists per game.
The third best performed player last round was Australian Nathan Jawai (208-F/C-86) of top-ranked FCB Regal. Jawai scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds. He was a key player of FCB Regal, leading his team to a 86-61 easy win against the lower-ranked Besiktas (#8, 0-11). Many experts and fans count FCB Regal as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 10 victories and only one lost games. They are currently at the very top of the standings in group F. Jawai has a very solid season. In 21 games in Euroleague he scored 7.3ppg. He also has 4.7rpg and FGP: 66.7%.

Unicaja Malaga continue to make changes. After parting ways with head coach Jasmin Repesa the Malaga team has reportedly split ways with Krunoslav Simon (197-G/F-85, agency: Beo Basket) and Kosta Perovic (217-C-85).

The forward has been the member of the Croatian National Team since 2008. Kosta Perovic also moved to Unicaja at the start of the season. His stats read 3.3 points and 2.2 boards per game in EuroLeague. In ACB the centre had 3.7 points and 2.0 rebounds per appearance. Kosta Perovic previously played in NBA, Serbia, Spain. He has been the member of the Serbian National Team since 2008.

One of the most dominant forwards of the past decade, three-time Euroleague champion Matjaz Smodis has decided to retire, at the age of 33, after finishing his career as a champion. Playing for his hometown team Krka Novo Mesto, a club where he started his career, Smodis was named the MVP of the playoffs finals, as Krka downed Union Olimpija 61-71 in Game 4, to win its fourth consecutive domestic title.
"Game 3 loss was a wake-up call for us, but we knew if we play tougher, harder, it will be difficult for Olimpija to beat us," Smodis said after scoring 21 points to lead Krka to Game 4 victory, and the national title, - "Thanks to all the fans, and all the people at the club, for an ideal end of a long and successful career"
For Smodis, this was his 16th domestic trophy, winning at least one with each of five clubs he played with during his career, in addition to three Euroleague titles he has to his name. The first Euroleague crown for Smodis came in 2001, in his Euroleague debut, when his Virtus Bologna won the best-of-five Finals against Tau Ceramica. Two more titles Smodis won with CSKA Moscow in 2006 and 2008, both coming against Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Smodis was also a three-time Euroleague runner up, playing title games in 2004 with Fortitudo Bologna, as well as 2007 and 2009 with CSKA. He played 11 Euroleague seasons, amassing 170 games and ranks among Top 25 all time in both points (1,818) and rebounds (687), as he is one of only seven players to have tallied at least 1,800 points and 650 rebounds in his career.
Smodis went on to win Italian League trophies with Virtus Bologna in 2001 and with Fortitudo Bologna in 2005, as well as six consecutive Russian League titles with CSKA Moscow from 2006 to 2011. He also won six domestic cup titles.
