JSF Nanterre (ProA) signed 28-year old French ex-international power forward Ali Traore (207-108kg-85, college: S.Idaho JC, agency: Beo Basket). Traore managed to play in four leagues in two countries last year (!!!). He played last season at ALBA Berlin in German BBL league. In 10 games he had 10.4ppg, 4.9rpg and 1.4bpg. He helped them to win the cup. Traore also played 6 games in Euroleague where he recorded 9.3ppg and 3.8rpg. He also spent pre-season at Lokomotiv (PBL) in Russian league that year. In only one game he had 4 points and 2 rebounds. Traore also played 1 game in VTB United League where he had 10 points and 5 rebounds.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as he was voted Eurobasket.com All-EuroCup 3rd Team in 2012.
Traore was also a member of French international program for some years. He played for French Senior National Team between 2009 and 2012 and previously for U20 National Team back in 2005. Traore represented France at the Olympic Games in London (United Kingdon) last year. His stats at that event were 6 games: 4.5ppg, 2.7rpg.
Traore has played previously professionally in Italy (Lottomatica Roma) and France (ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket, Chorale de Roanne, STB Le Havre and Quimper UJAP).
He attended College of Southern Idaho until 2005 and it will be his ninth season as a professional player.
Traore could be described: A very athletic player, who can play in each of the front court positions. Has great inside game skills, he's tough and has good timing for the offensive rebounds. Also, he can hit a shot from outside. This is why he could spend time at the SF position too, but he should improve his defensive skills for first.
