Bourges - Wisla Can-Pak 54-57
Wisla Can-Pack got closer to the EuroLeague Final Eight beating Bourges Basket away from home. Tina Charles (193-C-88, agency: LBM Management, college: Connecticut) came up with crucial points late in the game to seal the victory for Wisla as they look forward to close out the series at home court. Bourges looked in charge in the opening quarter. The French side posted a 20:8 lead after ten minutes of action. But Wisla lived up to the challenge. The visitors held the French side to just 8 points in the second period cutting the deficit at 5-point mark at halftime 23:28. Wisla erased the deficit in the third term. The teams entered the fourth frame tied at 40. Wisla opened the final period with six points in a row to surge ahead. But Bourges stayed close. Dumerc tied it at 54 with just 4 seconds remaining in regulation. However Tina Charles converted a three-point play in the final possession of the visitors to seal the win for Wisla. She accounted for 24 points and 11 boards to pace the winners. Paulina Pawlak (170-PG-84, agency: Data Plus Group) added 14 points for the Polish side. Styliani Kaltsidou (188-F-83, agency: Josep and Nicolas) answered with 15 points for Bourges. Emmeline Ndongue had 11 points and 14 boards in defeat.

Good Angels - Perfumerias 82-68
Good Angels opened win count against Perfumerias Avenida in the Euroleague playoffs. Plenette Pierson (188-PF-81, college: Texas Tech) scored 23 points to lead the Slovakian champions to a comfortable win in Kosice in the opener. Good Angels started the game with eight unanswered points to set the tone. They rallied to a 24:17 lead after ten minutes. Good Angels maintained the advantage throughout the second quarter. They registered a 43:35 advantage heading into the second half. The margin grew at 17-point mark in the third quarter. Good Angels entered the final frame up by 13 points 63:50. The hosts kept Perfumerias Avenida at safe distance throughout the fourth quarter and sealed the winning outcome at the end. Allie Quigley (180-G-86, college: De Paul) notched 21 points, while Tijana Krivacevic added 14 points for the winners. Monique Currie (183-G/F-83, college: Duke) and Egle Sulciute responded with 15 points each for the visitors.

Familia Schio - Rivas Ecopolis 69-63
Jantel Lavender (190-C-88, college: Ohio St.) scored 19 points and grabbed 9 rebounds to lead Schio past Rivas Ecopolis in the first game of the EuroLeague playoff series. The teams will now meet again on Friday in Spain. Schio held on to a slender 17:15 lead after ten minutes. The gap grew deeper in the second quarter. The Italian side accumulated a 38:29 halftime advantage. Rivas Ecopolis picked up the defensive aggressiveness in the third term. The Spanish team held the hosts to 13 points in the period and narrowed the gap at just three points 48:51. Morrison put the visitors within one early in the fourth frame. Schio however held on to the advantage. Laura Macchi (188-F-79) sank four free throws in a row in the dying minutes to help Schio gain a vital home win at the end. Laura Macchi delivered 10 points, while Danielle McCray added 9 for the winning side. Olexandra Kurasova (186-F-86) answered with 23 points and 9 rebounds for Rivas Ecopolis. Queralt Casas chipped in 12 points in defeat.

Nadezhda O. - CCC Polkowice 71-74
CCC Polkowice grabbed a valuable road win over Nadezhda in the EuroLeague playoff series opener. CCC will now look to close out the series at home court. Nnemkadi Ogwumike (189-F/C-90, college: Stanford) stepped up with 20 points and 8 rebounds to pace the Polish team to the success. CCC dominated in the first half. They eked out a 24:22 lead at the first break. Belinda Snell (181-SF-81) sparked the second quarter. She drained three treys and led CCC to a 45:32 advantage. The visitors headed into the second half up by 9 points 49:40. Nadezhda thougg were not done just yet. The hosts went on a 15:2 run in the third quarter to level things up. Nadezhda pulled in front 64:62 early in the final frame. CCC Polkowice answered with six unanswered points to surge ahead. Natalia Zhedik (184-SF-88) dragged Nadezhda within one but Skorek and Nnemkadi Ogwumike posted four points in a row to make it 74:69 for CCC. Montgomery just narrowed the gap hovever Sapova missed a three-pointer that could have sent the game into overtime. Belinda Snell and Laia Palau delivered 16 points apiece for CCC. DeWanna Bonner (193-G-87, agency: Josep and Nicolas, college: Auburn) answered with 22 points and 10 rebounds for Nadezhda. Natalia Zhedik chipped in 17 points in the losing effort.

Spartak V MR - Targoviste 91-84
Spartak Moscow Region clinched the opening win in the EuroLeague playoff series versus Targoviste. Becky Hammon (175-PG-77, agency: Josep and Nicolas, college: Colorado St.) stepped up with 23 points to pace the hosts. The Romanian team jumped to an early lead in the game. Targoviste unloaded 26 points in the first ten minutes to take a 4-point lead. Spartak though quickly erased the deficit and tied things up at 46 at halftime. Spartak were back to their more recognizable style in the third quarter. The Russian team took over and ignited a 26:14 run to secure a 12-point advantage at the final intermission. Targoviste did not give it up easily as they as they capped the regulation on an 8:2 run but stopped still way short of victory. Candice Dupree (188-F/C-84, agency: LBM Management, college: Temple) nailed 20 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, while Seimone Augustus added 16 points, 6 assists and 6 boards for the winners. Matee Ajavon (170-PG-86, college: Rutgers) answered with 22 points for Targoviste. Gabriela Marginean chipped in 19 points in the loss.

Galatasaray - USK Praha 49-48
Galatasaray managed just pull away from USK Praha in the EuroLeague playoff opener in Istanbul tonight. Lindsey Harding (173-G-84, college: Duke) stepped up with a late jumper to give Galatasaray a vital win at home. The game saw numerous lead changes and it all came down to the final seconds where Galatasaray proved the strength. Saziye Ivegin and Sylvia Fowles scored 9 points each to pace the hosts. Galatasaray enjoyed a 12:8 lead after ten minutes of action. USK Praha however erased it in the second frame. They went on a 15:3 run to take a 25:19 lead late in the first half. USK Praha arrived at the big break up by three points 26:23. The lead changed hands throughout the see-saw third quarter. USK Praha remained in front as they entered the fourth stanza up by three points 42:39. The hosts went on a 7:0 run early in the final stanza to surge ahead. However Viteckova and Kia Vaughn (193-C-87, college: Rutgers) gave the visitors a 48:46 lead with 62 seconds remaining. Sylvia Fowles hit just one out of two free throws to put Galatasaray within one. Skerovic then missed a three-pointer and Lindsey Harding punished the Czech team on the other end. She converted a jumper at the fast break and sealed the victory for the home team. Sancho Lyttle (192-C-83, college: Houston) and Lindsey Harding provided 8 points each for the winners. Kia Vaughn answered with 15 points for USK Praha. Jelena Dubljevic netted 8 points in the loss.

Fenerbahce - UNI Gyor 93-61
Fenerbahce registered a comfortable home win over Uni Gyor in the first game of the EuroLeague playoff series. Ivana Matovic (197-C-83) nailed 28 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and issued 4 assists to lead the winners. Fenerbahce got to an aggressive start to the game. The hosts fired 27 points in the opening quarter to take a 9-point lead. Fenerbahce stayed red hot offensively in the second quarter. They exploded with 27 points and established a 19-point halftime advantage 54:35. The home team maintained the lead throughout the third term. Fenerbahce accounted for a 73:49 advantage heading into the fourth period. Uni Gyor scored only 12 points in the final period and had to surrender at the end. Angel McCoughtry (187-SF-86, college: Louisville) provided 16 points, while Agnieszka Bibrzycka and Ieva Kublina delivered 10 points each for the hosts. Natalie Hurst (164-PG-83) answered with 17 points and 6 assists for Gyor. Cindy Lima had 16 points and 11 boards in defeat.

Nadezhda Orenburg (PBL) signed 24-year old Russian international power forward Ksenia Tikhonenko (192-93, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov). She is a dual citizen owning also Kazakhstan passport. Tikhonenko has played for the last two seasons at Dynamo Moscow in the PBL. In 23 games she had 9.9ppg, 9.3rpg, 1.4apg and 1.1spg last season. She helped them to make it to the semifinals. Fenerbahce Spor Kulubu Istanbul (KBSL) added to their roster 28-year old Serbian international shooting guard Ana Dabovic (183-89). She is a dual citizen owning also Montenegrin passport. Dabovic played last season at Dynamo Moscow in Russian PBL league. In 21 games she was fourth best scorer with 11.2ppg and averaged 2.7rpg, 3.2apg and 1.3spg. Abdi Farhiya (ex Mersin BSB) signs at Avenida - 14 days ago
Perfumerias Avenida Salamanca (LFB) landed 25-year old Swedish international small forward Abdi Farhiya (188-92). She played most recently at Mersin Buyuksehir Belediye in Turkish KBSL. Farhiya managed to play in four leagues in two countries last year (!!!). In 13 KBSL games she averaged 11.2ppg, 3.8rpg and 2.2apg.
