Pierre Vincent names 26-player training camp squad - Apr 3, 2013

Pierre Vincent has called up 26 players to participate in the first pre-EuroBasket training camp for the French National Team. The players will gather at the end of the month to tip off their preparations for the home 2013 EuroBasket. The invitees list does not include Florence Lepron (182-F-85) and Clemence Beikes (180-G-83, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who decided to retire. Elodie Godin and Marion Laborde opted for the rest.
France is scheduled to play several friendly encounters before the start of the European Championship. They will take on Italy on May 18-20. Later France will take part at the 4-team international tournament in Chalon-sur-Saone, Lyon and Valence. They will play versus Belarus, Lithuania and Russia. France will also face Canada and Spain in June.

FINAL Spain - France 71-55 Spain are 2017 European champions! They overcame France in the title game in Prague tonight. Sancho Lyttle (193-C-83, college: Houston) came up with 19 points and 8 rebounds to pace the champions. Spain retained the Gold medals last won in 2013 EuroBasket edition. SEMIFINALS Greece - France 55-77 France joined Spain in the championship game. They rallied past Greece in the second semifinal today. Nwal-Endene Miyem (188-PF-88) posted 13 points to pace les Bleues. France grabbed a 23:17 lead after the opening quarter. Greece however stuck around in the second term.
