Dobrodosli v Sloveniji!!! Or welcome to Slovenia. Ljubljana, Jesenice, Koper and Celje are ready to open the doors for 24 teams at the start of the top campaign in Europe. Not only Europeans, but only naturalized players are ready for the Big Event.
Twenty four teams are divided into 4 groups with 6 teams in each. Three best teams will advanced to the Second Stage to create another 2 groups with 6 teams. Later on 4 best teams from the group will make up the Quarterfinal Stage.
In 2011 Spain repeated as European Champions. They overcame France 98:85 in the title game in Kaunas. Juan Carlos Navarro (192-G-80) put on another brilliant performance scoring 27 points and issuing 4 assists. Pau Gasol (213-F/C-80) and Jose Manuel Calderon (192-PG-81) accounted for 17 points each in the victory. Tony Parker (188-PG-82) shone for Les Bleus scoring 26 points, distributing 5 assists and pulling down 5 rebounds. This time Spain will be without Juan Carlos Navarro and Pau Gasol. Many other loud names will not appear in Slovenia, but we are sure there will be many new ones.

Put simply, the Spanish have been consistently excellent in the competit...   [read more]

Llull out of action for seven to nine months - 7 days ago
The worst case scenario was confirmed in the first morning hours for Sergio Llull (190-PG-87). The Spanish basketball federation announced that the player suffered a torn ACL. The really bad news however is that Llull will need at least seven to nine months in order to return back to action after what happened in the preparation game of Spain against Belgium. The press release of the federation is the following. Following the tests carried out on Sergio Llull in the Hospital Quiron Salud,...   [read more]
