Finland U16 posts three victories at the Nordic Championship. The team managed to seal the third place with 3-2 record.
Denmark U16 closed the first day with the win over Finland U16 68:61. The latter dominated the majority of the game and led 7 points after 30 minutes of the game. Denmark however needed a 24-10 surge to seal the victory. August Emil Haas stepped up with 18 points for the winners, while Jacob Larsen (204-PF-97) collected massive 15 points and 16 rebounds. Matias Suvanto (185-SF-97) produced 12 Riku Laine had 11.
Finland U16 closed day 2 with the victory over Estonia U16 61:57. The third quarter was decisive in the game when the Finnish players needed 23-9 to take control of the game. Tommi Rasi poured in 11 points for the winners and Jesse Haapanen (186-SG-97) as well as Karri Kallio (196-PF-97) posted 9 apiece. Siim Markus Post chipped in with 17 points in defeat, while Ivalo Pajumets and Kregor Hermet scored 12 each.
In Day 3 Iceland U16 posted a 97:64 win against Finland U16. Iceland managed to win all the quarters in the game and dominated the court. Ragnar Fridriksson and Kristinn Palsson top-scored for the winners with 19 points each, while Hilmir Kristjansson brought 17. Aatu Kivimaki (177-PG-97) chipped in with 14 in defeat, while Edon Maxhuni delivered 11.
In Day 4 Finland U16 edged Norway U16 83:56. Norway managed to win the last period 19-12 but it was too late to catch up with the opponents. Matias Suvanto paced all the winners with 12 points, while Aatu Kivimaki netted 11 and Riku Laine chipped in with 10. Harald Frey answered with 23 points for the losing side in the game.
Finland U16 outscored Sweden U16 62:51. Vili Nyman paced all the winners with 13 points and Matias Suvanto added 11. Tobias Sjoberg replied with 11 points in defeat, whilst Nils Johansson notched 8.

KTP Basket Kotka (Korisliiga) inked 31-year old American center Kenneth Simms (205-109kg-86, college: Cumberland). It is actually his comeback to KTP Basket as he has played here before. Simms played most recently at Kaposvari in Hungarian A Division. In 36 games he averaged 11.3ppg, 6.6rpg and 1.2apg last season. Salon Vilpas Vikings (Korisliiga) strengthened their roster with addition of 23-year old American guard Canyon Barry (198-93kg-94, college: Florida). He was about to sign at New York Knicks in the NBA. Barry just graduated from University of Florida and it is his first season in pro basketball. His team was regular season runner-up in SEC. Torpan Pojat Helsinki (1st Division) signed 27-year old American forward Milton Jennings (206-102kg-90, college: Clemson). He played last season at BC Winterthur in Swiss LNA league. In 11 games he had 13.1ppg, 9.1rpg, 2.4apg, 1.5spg and 1.2bpg.
