Earlysia
Marchbanks
American guard Earlysia Marchbanks (180-G, agency: Interperformances) had a very impressive game in the last round for Kerava, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 30.
The -year old player had a double-double of 18 points and 20 rebounds, while her team beat TuRi (#9, 7-18) 74-61. Kerava is placed at 8th position in Finnish SM-sarja. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 17 games and recorded just seven victories. Marchbanks turned to be Kerava's top player in her first season with the team. Former Oregon State University star has very solid stats this year. Marchbanks is in league's top in points (5th best: 18.8ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 13.7rpg) and averages impressive 2.7spg.

The second best player in last round's games was 25-year old American Jordan Murphree (183-G-87, agency: Merit Sports) of Honka. Murphree had a very good evening with a double-double of 17 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as Honka was edged by slightly lower-ranked HoNsU (#6, 14-10) 68-65. This loss caused Honka to drop to 4th position in the standings. Her team's 15-10 record is not bad at all. Murphree is a newcomer at Honka, but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.8ppg (#3). Her other stats are also decent: 10.2rpg and 3.9apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Alberta Auguste (180-F-85) of BC Nokia (#10). Auguste scored 20 points and grabbed fifteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Auguste's great performance BC Nokia lost 77-85 to the higher-ranked FoA (#3, 16-9). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. BC Nokia can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 4-21 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Auguste she does not play for a better team. But maybe if she did, her season stats would not be that high. Auguste has a very solid season. In 8 games in Finland she scored 13.5ppg. She also has 9.3rpg and 3.1spg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Laura Saarinen (187-F/C-92) of FoA - 17 points and 10 rebounds
5. Rosetta Adzasu (165-PG-90) of Kerava - 28 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists
6. Melissa Lechlitner (170-G-88) of FoA - 23 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Minna Sten (189-F-87) of HoNsU - 13 points and 13 rebounds
8. Kenya McBee (192-C-83) of ToPo - 18 points and 11 rebounds
9. Nina Hyvarinen (175-F-80) of BC Nokia - 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Kenya Robinson (182-C-70) of Huima - 16 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
