American Jonte Flowers (196-F/G-85, agency: Warren Sports International) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Kataja and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 43.
The 27-year old swingman had the game-high 32 points adding six rebounds and two assists for Kataja in his team's victory, helping them to crush Namika Lahti (#11, 12-29) with 23-point margin 90-67. Kataja maintains the 3rd position in Finnish Korisliiga. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Kataja will need more victories to improve their 30-8 record. In the team's last game Flowers had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Kataja's top player in his first season with the team. Winona State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Flowers is in league's top in points (9th best: 17.4ppg) and averages solid 2.5spg,54.1% FGP and 42.9% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 27-year old American forward Andrais Thornton (203-F-85) of FoKoPo. Thornton impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 31 points and 10 rebounds. It was enough for FoKoPo to edge the higher-ranked Kouvot (#6, 20-21) by 6 points 92-86. Despite this victory they still are dead at the bottom. 31 lost games are too many comparing to just eleven victories FoKoPo managed to get this year. Thornton is a newcomer at FoKoPo and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Matthew Gibson (196-G-84) of LrNMKY (#7). Gibson scored 24 points and passed ten assists (!!!). Despite Gibson's great performance LrNMKY lost 81-93 to slightly higher-ranked Kauhajoki (#5, 26-16). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of LrNMKY ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 24 games, recording just seventeen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Gibson could help LrNMKY to bring them higher in the standings. Gibson has a great season in Finland. After 37 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.9ppg (4th best) and assists with 5.3apg (4th best). He also has 2.2spg, FGP: 53.4% and 3PT: 41.0%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Haminn Quaintance (201-F-85) of Kauhajoki - 14 points, 17 rebounds and 7 assists
5. Lamonte Ulmer (198-SF-86) of Pyrinto - 22 points and 13 rebounds
6. Jahmar Thorpe (198-F-84) of FoKoPo - 20 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists
7. Tremaine Ford (206-F/C-86) of Kauhajoki - 22 points and 10 rebounds
8. Martin Zeno (196-G-85) of Nilan Bisons - 25 points and 6 rebounds
9. Damon Williams (201-F-73) of Pyrinto - 19 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Chris Hester (192-G/F-79) of Kouvot - 12 points and 16 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
