Earlysia
Marchbanks
-year old guard Earlysia Marchbanks (180-G, agency: Interperformances) had a great game in the last round for Kerava and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 29.
She had a double-double of 32 points and 20 rebounds, while her team lost the game against Honka (#3, 15-9) 77-86. Kerava moved-up to the 9th position in the Finnish SM-sarja. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 17 games and recorded just six victories. Marchbanks turned to be Kerava's top player in her first season with the team. Oregon State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Marchbanks is in league's top in points (5th best: 18.8ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 13.4rpg) and averages solid 2.7spg.

Second best performed player last round was Melissa Jeltema (175-G-88) of Honka. She is American guard in her first season at Honka. In the last game Jeltema recorded impressive double-double of 23 points and 13 rebounds. Of course Honka cruised to a 86-77 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Kerava (#9, 6-17). This victory allowed Honka to move up to 3rd position in the standings. Her team's 15-9 record is not bad at all. Jeltema is a newcomer at Honka and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 26.5ppg (#1). She also registered 9.5 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Phebe Smith (183-F, agency: Gamble Sports Management) of HyPo (#11). Smith scored 22 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Smith's great performance HyPo lost 63-79 to the higher-ranked Catz (#1, 22-2). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. HyPo can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 2-21 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Too bad for Smith she does not play for a better team. But maybe if she did, her season stats would not be that high. Smith has individually a great season in Finland. After 13 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 15.7rpg (#1 in league).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Minna Sten (189-F-87) of HoNsU - 19 points and 11 rebounds
5. Sarah Miles (170-PG-89) of FoA - 15 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists
6. Korinne Campbell (182-G/F-88) of PeKa - 20 points and 19 rebounds
7. Alexandria Anderson (185-G/F-86) of Catz - 21 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists
8. Jordan Murphree (183-G-87) of Honka - 16 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Brittany Hedderson (175-G-90) of TuRi - 12 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Kenya McBee (192-C-83) of ToPo - 21 points and 20 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
