Gerald Lee
CSU Asesoft Ploiesti (Liga Nationala) tabbed 26-year old Finnish international center Gerald Lee (208-87, college: ODU). Lee managed to play in three leagues last year (!!!). He played most recently at Buducnost in Montenegrin 1A league. In 14 Eurocup games he averaged 8.8ppg and 3.4rpg. He also played 26 games in Adriatic League where he had 10.2ppg and 4.3rpg. Lee also played 15 games in 1A where he had 11.1ppg and 4.0rpg. He helped them to win the league title and they also made it to the cup final. He can count that season as a very successful as was selected to Eurobasket.com All-Montenegrin League 1st Team and All-Imports Team.
The previous (11-12) season Lee played at Prima Veroli (Lega Due Gold) in Italian league. In 31 games he had 12.4ppg, 6.0rpg and 1.1spg. A very impressive season as he was selected to Eurobasket.com Italian Lega2 All-Bosmans Team.
In 2010-11 season he played at Udinese (Nazionale C) in Italian league. In 30 games he had 14.4ppg, 5.6rpg and 1.2spg.
Among other achievements Lee received Eurobasket.com All-Finnish League Most Improved Player of the Year award back in 2006 at his college time.
Lee has been also a member of Finnish international program for some years. He has regularly played for Finnish senior team since 2006 and previously for U20 National Team between 2006 and 2007. Lee represented Finland at the Qualifications to European Championships 2013 last year. His stats at that event were 8 games: 10.5ppg, 4.8rpg, FGP: 59.0%, FT: 63.2%.
Lee has played also professionally in Finland (UU-Korihait).
He attended Old Dominion University until 2010 and it will be his fourth season in pro basketball.
Let's have closer look into Lee's outlook: A center with inside-outside dimensions, who knows how to score in the paint and has great funtamentals, but who is yet too soft for top level. In a year or two, he can become Euroleague material, however.
