HoNsU trailed by 15 points after 3 quarters before a 20-11 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 63-69 at the end of the game. The former international power forward Laura Saarinen (187-92) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 19 rebounds for the winners and American point guard Sarah Miles (170-89, college: W.Virginia) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side American guard Brandi Davis (183-83, college: Oregon) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and the former international forward Minna Sten (189-87) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. HoNsU's coach Tuomas Oja rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.

The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 84-70. The former international point guard Reetta Piipari (170-80, college: Xavier) stepped up and scored 22 points for the winners and American guard Miriam McKenzie (177-90, college: Loyola, MD) chipped in 16 points and 11 rebounds. The game was mostly controlled by Catz Lappeenranta. TuRi managed to win fourth quarter 20-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Catz Lappeenranta dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to TuRi's 30. Catz Lappeenranta forced 20 TuRi turnovers. Russian power forward Jelena Reshetko (184-86) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and American swingman Alexandria Anderson (185-86, college: Chattanooga, agency: Regeneracom Sports) chipped in 25 points and 5 rebounds. Catz Lappeenranta's coach Mika Haakana used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Canadian guard Brittany Hedderson (175-90, college: Buffalo) responded with 23 points and American forward Callan Taylor (182-90, college: Sacred Heart) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds.

Amicale Steinsel (Total League) agreed terms with 22-year old American forward Jasmine Joyner (188-95, college: Chattanooga). She was tested by Kouvot in Finnish SM-sarja, but was not approved after all. Joyner's team won SoCon Tournament for four years in a row (between 2014 and 2017). She was voted All-SoCon 1st Team in 2015, 2016 and 2017 at her college time. American Forward Akilah Sims (178-F-94) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked PeKa, receiving a Player of the Week award for round 3. The 23-year old player had a double-double of 40 points and 11 rebounds, while her team outclassed FoA (#6, 1-2) with 26-point margin 93-67. PeKa maintains the 2nd position in Finnish SM-sarja. SM-sarja Regular Season is still in too early stage and there may be still significant changes in the standings. The most interesting game of round 3 was a home defeat of Helmi Basket (1-3) to HyPo (2-2) 85-76. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 35-15.
