There will be only one (last) round of the Regular Season in Kvinneligaen.

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Oslo: Ullern (#1) and Oslo Tigers (#6). Oslo Tigers were smashed at home by 79 points 17-96 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Ullern held Oslo Tigers to an opponent 18.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 61.3 percent accuracy of the winners. Ullern forced 29 Oslo Tigers turnovers and outrebounded them 37-18 including 25 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Tina Moen (181-86, college: IPFW) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds (on 14-of-16 shooting from the field) and center Julie McCarthy (187-93) who added 16 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Guard Eeva-Maria Mannikkoe (-83) responded with 4 points and 7 rebounds. Ullern (16-2) have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Oslo Tigers lost sixteenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 19 lost games. Ullern's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Oslo Ammerud.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 20: bottom-ranked Oslo Tigers were destroyed by Ulriken on the opponent's court 84-41. Gimle outscored Oslo Tigers in a home game 91-24.


Huima - ToPo 66-60

Rather expected game in Bergen where 6th ranked Oslo Tigers (1-19) were crushed by fourth ranked Ulriken (10-10) 84-41 on Sunday. Ulriken dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Oslo Tigers' 24. Ulriken forced 35 Oslo Tigers turnovers and had a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Oslo Tigers' players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Stine Austgulen (179-94) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and forward Helene Kongestol (182-93) who added 14 points and 4 assists during the contest. Ulriken's coach DuRell Sandford felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Uzoma Ifejilika (-92) responded with 6 points and 8 rebounds and guard Merve Payasli (-91) scored 6 points and 7 rebounds. Defending champion maintains fourth position with 10-10 record. Oslo Tigers lost sixteenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 19 lost games.

Rather predictable result in Bergen where second ranked Gimle (16-3) smashed bottom-ranked Oslo Tigers (1-19) 91-24 on Saturday. Gimle held Oslo Tigers to an opponent 13.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 45.2 percent accuracy of the winners. Gimle forced 39 Oslo Tigers turnovers and outrebounded them 42-28 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Oslo Tigers' players. Worth to mention a great performance of Argentinian-American guard Sthefany Thomas (173-89, college: Clemson) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 steals and forward Signe Kyrkjebo (180-95) who added 11 points and 5 assists during the contest. Five Gimle players scored in double figures. Gimle's coach Gunnar Gran felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Eeva-Maria Mannikkoe (-83) responded with 4 points and 9 rebounds and guard Siv Pettersen (-92) scored 7 points. Gimle maintains second position with 16-3 record having just -1 point less than leader Ullern. Oslo Tigers lost sixteenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 19 lost games. Gimle are looking forward to face BC Asker (#5) in Rykkinn in the next round. Oslo Tigers will have a break next round.

Very predictable result when fourth ranked Forssan Alku (16-9) defeated on the road 10th ranked BC Nokia (4-21) 85-77 on Saturday. Forssan Alku made 28-of-34 free shots (82.4 percent) during the game. Forssan Alku forced 23 BC Nokia turnovers. Strangely BC Nokia outrebounded Forssan Alku 50-34 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Melissa Lechlitner (170-88, college: Notre Dame) who scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. The former international power forward Laura Saarinen (187-92) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Alberta Auguste (180-85, college: Tennessee) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds and forward Nina Hyvarinen (175-80) added 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Forssan Alku moved-up to third place. Newly promoted BC Nokia keeps the tenth position with 21 games lost. Forssan Alku will meet at home Kerava Energia Team (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. BC Nokia will play against HyPo in Hyvinkaa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Not a big story in a game in Helsinki where 11th ranked HyPo (2-22) was rolled over by fifth ranked Torpan Pojat (15-11) 72-53 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 72-53. Torpan Pojat dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to HyPo's 28. The best player for the winners was American center Kenya McBee (192-83) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. International guard Vilma Kesanen (179-88) chipped in 16 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was U.S. Virgin Islands-American swingman Natalie Day (182-90, college: Portland) who recorded 22 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Phebe Smith (183, college: Columbus St., agency: Gamble Sports Management) added 9 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Torpan Pojat maintains fifth position with 15-11 record. HyPo lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 22 lost games. Torpan Pojat will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. HyPo will play against BC Nokia (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
