There will be only one (last) round of the Regular Season in SM-sarja.

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Lappeenranta. First ranked Catz Lappeenranta faced 4th placed HoNsU. Host Catz Lappeenranta (27-2) smashed guests from Jyvaskyla (16-13) 75-55. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 13-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-55. The best player for the winners was American swingman Alexandria Anderson (185-86, college: Chattanooga, agency: Regeneracom Sports) who scored 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Russian power forward Jelena Reshetko (184-86) chipped in 11 points and 10 rebounds. Catz Lappeenranta's coach Mika Haakana used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Nia Jackson (170-89, college: Oregon, agency: Gamble Sports Management) produced 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. Catz Lappeenranta have an impressive series of fifteen victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 27-2 record. HoNsU at the other side dropped to the sixth position with 13 games lost. Catz Lappeenranta are looking forward to face league's second-placed Peli-Karhut in Kotka in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. HoNsU will play at home against Torpan Pojat (#5) in Helsinki and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Aanekoski supposed to be also worth to mention about. Second ranked Peli-Karhut (25-4) played at the court of 7th ranked Aanekosken (15-14). Peli-Karhut defeated Aanekosken 87-71. American swingman Korinne Campbell (182-88, college: W.Virginia) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Linda-Lotta Lehtoranta contributed with 20 points for the winners. American center Kenya Robinson (182-70, college: New Orleans) answered with 19 points and 6 rebounds for Aanekosken. The victory was the fourteenth consecutive win for Peli-Karhut. They maintain second place with 25-4 record having just two points less than leader Catz. Aanekosken at the other side keeps the seventh position with 14 games lost. Peli-Karhut will play against league's leader Catz Lappeenranta on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Aanekosken will play against Honka (#4) in Espoo and hopes to get back on the winning track.

The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Torpan Pojat moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Honka. Loser Kerava Energia Team keeps the eighth position with 20 games lost. They share it with TuRi. Torpan Pojat will meet HoNsU (#6) in the next round. Kerava Energia Team will play against BC Nokia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 35 Honka crushed HyPo in Espoo 90-71.

The game with biggest result difference took place in Helsinki. Local Torpan Pojat (17-12) outscored 8th ranked Kerava Energia Team (9-20) 100-61 on Sunday night. The game without a history. Torpan Pojat led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Kerava Energia Team to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Torpan Pojat dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Kerava Energia Team's 30 and made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Kerava Energia Team 59-31 including a 27-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a quality performance of American center Kenya McBee (192-83) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 19 rebounds. The former international power forward Niina Laaksonen (185-85) helped adding 28 points and 12 rebounds. Four Torpan Pojat players scored in double figures. There was no surprise in Hyvinkaa where 11th ranked HyPo (3-26) was crushed by sixth ranked Honka (17-12) 90-71 on Sunday. Strangely HyPo outrebounded Honka 41-29 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American guard Melissa Jeltema (175-88, college: Oakland) who led her team to a victory scoring 28 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Her fellow American import guard Jordan Murphree (183-87, college: Texas Tech, agency: Merit Sports) helped adding 25 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. U.S. Virgin Islands-American swingman Natalie Day (182-90, college: Portland) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds and American forward Phebe Smith (183, college: Columbus St., agency: Gamble Sports Management) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Honka moved-up to fourth place, which they share with ToPo. HyPo lost their fourth game in a row. HyPo at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay dead last with 26 lost games. Honka will meet at home Aanekosken (#7) in the next round. HyPo will play against TuRi (#9) in Turku and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Hyvinkaan Ponteva (SM-sarja) tabbed 25-year old American guard Candice Warthen (165-92, college: Arizona). She played most recently at Lulea Basket in Swedish Damligan. In 20 games she averaged 6.9ppg, 3.3rpg and 2.0apg last season. Warthen helped them to win the Damligan title (twice) despite they ended the regular season at the second place (twice).
