Gravelines leave no chances for visiting Kataja in the last game of the quarter-final play-off series in EuroChallenge. The French team won 86:57 and will head to Finland in order to advance to Final Four. Game 2 to be played on March 14th.
Gravelines-Dunkerque led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Joensuun Kataja to just 7 points in first quarter. Gravelines-Dunkerque forced 22 Joensuun Kataja turnovers and outrebounded Joensuun Kataja 36-22 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Dwight Buycks (190-PG-89, college: Marquette) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. Abdoulaye M'Baye (189-PG-88) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Five Gravelines-Dunkerque players scored in double figures. Johnell Smith (180-PG-80, college: New Orleans) answered with 15 points and the other American import forward Daniel Coleman added 6 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Joensuun Kataja.

Quimper reinforced their roster. They penned a two-year deal with Gary Staelens (189-G-84). Last two seasons the guard played for Blois. He averaged 12.3 points, 3.3 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 1.0 steal per game in ProB last season. Previously Gary Staelens had stints with Brest, Aix-Maurienne, Saint-Etienne and Besancon. Lille strengthened their backcourt. They agreed on terms of contract with Kevin Bichard (195-F/G-86). The guard signed a two-year deal with the team. Last two seasons Kevin Bichard played for Saint Quentin. Last season he tallied 8.4 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.2 steals per game in ProB.
