There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in LF2.

The game in Reims was quite interesting. 5th ranked LTB 29 (12-8) played at the court of seventh ranked Reims (11-10). Reims managed to secure a 6-point victory 79-73 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 15 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 79-73. The best player for the winners was Romanian center Anita Meszaros (190-88) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Maud Lesoudard (185-88) chipped in 19 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Marie Butard (174-86) who recorded 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Reims moved-up to sixth place. LTB 29 lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with eight games lost. Reims will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. LTB 29 will play at home against Dunkerque (#10) and is hoping to win this game.

It was a good game for forward Melanie Arnaud (184-88) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. Floriane Herrscher contributed with 19 points and 13 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. point guard Kathleen Bourdin (162-87) replied with 21 points for SIG. COB Calais maintains second position with 16-4 record having just two points less than leader Nice. SIG at the other side keeps the eighth place with 11 games lost. COB Calais will play against CFBB (#11) in Paris in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SIG will play at home against Limoges and hopes to get back on the winning track.

In the last two games of round 24 Angers defeated Dunkerque in a road game 79-72. Limoges was beaten by CFBB at home 56-72.


COB Calais - SIG 93-67

The game with biggest result difference took place in Calais. Local COB Calais (16-4) outscored 8th ranked SIG (9-11) 93-67. It looked good early as SIG took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then COB Calais had a 23-15 second period charge getting the lead and SIG was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 67-93. COB Calais dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to SIG's 30. They outrebounded SIG 42-21 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. COB Calais players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by SIG's players. It was a good game for forward Melanie Arnaud (184-88) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Floriane Herrscher (187-84) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five COB Calais players scored in double figures. point guard Kathleen Bourdin (162-87) replied with 21 points and center Celine Schmitt-Sender (185-80) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for SIG. COB Calais maintains second position with 16-4 record having just two points less than leader Nice. SIG at the other side keeps the eighth place with 11 games lost. COB Calais will play against CFBB (#11) in Paris in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SIG will play at home against Limoges and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Dunkerque - Angers 72-79

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Dunkerque (5-16) was defeated at home by third ranked Angers (15-5) 79-72. The guests were already 15 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 26-18 Dunkerque's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 79-72 at the end of the game. Angers dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Dunkerque's 32. Angers forced 20 Dunkerque turnovers. It was a good game for point guard Camille Aubert (171-89) who led her team to a victory with 17 points and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Power forward Johanna Cortinovis (190-86) contributed with 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Angers players scored in double figures. Angers' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Latvian power forward Dace Brumermane (187-81, agency: Josep and Nicolas) replied with 23 points and 6 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and Hungarian swingman Judit Fritz (183-87, college: St.Francis, NY) added 23 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Dunkerque. Angers have an impressive five-game winning streak. Newly promoted Angers maintains third position with 15-5 record having just three points less than leader Nice. Dunkerque lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 16 games lost. Angers will play against league's leader Nice at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Dunkerque will play against LTB 29 (#5) in Pleyber-Christ and hopes to get back on the winning track.

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when twelfth ranked CFBB (2-18) defeated on the road 11th ranked Limoges (2-18) 72-56. The game was mostly controlled by CFBB. Limoges was better in second period 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for forward Laetitia Guapo (183-95) who led her team to a victory with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Clarince Djaldi-Tabdi (183-95) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. CFBB's coach Gregory Halin allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Thazina Cook (175-88, college: Iona) replied with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Lalya Sidibe (178-91) added 12 points in the effort for Limoges. CFBB moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with defeated Limoges. Limoges lost fifth consecutive game. CFBB will play against league's second-placed COB Calais at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Limoges will play against SIG (#8) in llkirch-Graff. and hopes to get back on the winning track.
