There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with extra overtimes, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The game between second ranked Strasbourg IG (16-7) and twelfth ranked Cholet (10-13) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Strasbourg IG was defeated by Cholet in a tough game in Strasbourg 65-71. The guests trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 26-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for American forward Marcus Goree (201-77, college: W.Virginia) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import point guard A.J. Slaughter (191-87, college: W.Kentucky) helped adding 15 points and 5 assists. American-Dominican swingman Ricardo Greer (197-78, college: Pittsburgh) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Strasbourg IG's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Cholet moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Limoges and Le Havre. Strasbourg IG at the other side keeps the second position with seven games lost. Cholet is looking forward to face Sluc Nancy (#14) at home in the next round. Strasbourg IG will play against Entente Orleans 45 (#10) and is hoping to win this game.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Chalon. Third ranked host Chalon/Saor (15-8) defeated 4th placed Le Mans (13-10) 66-60. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Blake Schilb (200-83, college: Loyola, IL, agency: Z.A.G. - Law Offices) who led the winners and scored 23 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. Marcus Denmon accounted for 11 points. FYR Macedonian-American point guard Darius Washington (188-85, college: Memphis) came up with 17 points and 5 rebounds for Le Mans in the defeat. Defending champion maintains third place with 15-8 record behind leader Gravelines. Le Mans at the other side keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. They share it with ASVEL. Chalon/Saor will play against bottom-ranked Poitiers (#16) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Le Mans will play against Limoges CSP Elite (#13) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked Boulazac Basket managed to get a seventh victory on Saturday night. This time newly promoted Boulazac Basket won against fourth-ranked ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket 68-59. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket. The best player for the winners was Alex Acker who scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Uche Nsonwu-Amadi produced 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the guests. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Boulazac Basket (7-16) moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Poitiers. Loser ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. They share it with Le Mans. Boulazac Basket will meet higher ranked Paris-Levallois (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket will play against Chorale de Roanne (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Poitiers (#15) forced the game against Limoges CSP Elite (#13) into an overtime, but lost by eight points 80-88. The game took place in Poitiers. But the guests from Limoges were better at the end. Jon Brockman orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 6 rebounds. Limoges CSP Elite's coach Panagiotis Giannakis allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Limoges CSP Elite (10-13) moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Cholet and Le Havre. Poitiers lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 16 games lost. Limoges CSP Elite's next round opponent will be higher ranked Le Mans (#5) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Poitiers will play against Chalon/Saor (#3) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
Thirteenth-ranked Limoges CSP Elite (10-13) gave a tough game to third ranked Chalon/Saor (15-8) on Tuesday. The visitors from Chalon managed to secure only three-point victory 74-71. However their fans expected much easier game. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for Shelden Williams who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Limoges CSP Elite's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Defending champion maintains third place with 15-8 record behind leader Gravelines. Newly promoted Limoges CSP Elite dropped to the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Chalon/Saor will face bottom-ranked Poitiers (#16) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Limoges CSP Elite will play against Le Mans (#5).

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 23: Dijon won against Nanterre on the opponent's court 80-76. Nancy managed to outperform Orleans in a home game 82-75. Paris-Levallois was rolled over Le Havre on the road 94-71.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks by Herve Toure of Nancy.



Chalon - Le Mans 66-60

The game between Top Four teams took place in Chalon. Third ranked host Chalon/Saor (15-8) defeated 4th placed Le Mans (13-10) 66-60. The hosts were ahead by 9 points but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 16-9 run, which allowed them to win the game. Chalon/Saor forced 25 Le Mans turnovers. Strangely Le Mans outrebounded Chalon/Saor 34-22 including 24 on the defensive glass. Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked JDA Dijon and 9th ranked JSF Nanterre had identical 11-11 record. But JSF Nanterre was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from JDA Dijon 80-76 on Saturday night. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-76. It was a great evening for guard David Melody (184-77) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Jeremy Leloup (202-87) helped adding 21 points. There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Sluc Nancy (8-15) defeated at home higher ranked Entente Orleans 45 (11-12) 82-75 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 24-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Sluc Nancy dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Entente Orleans 45's 34 and made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for forward Brandon Brown (201-85, college: CS San Bernar.) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 7 rebounds. There was an upset when higher ranked Paris-Levallois (12-11) was rolled over on the road by thirteenth ranked STB Le Havre (10-13) 94-71 on Saturday. The game without a history. STB Le Havre led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Paris-Levallois' 36 and made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Paris-Levallois 43-24 including a 28-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. STB Le Havre looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists.
