27-year old center Sergo Atvashovili (223-C-85) put on an amazing game in the last round for Sokhumi and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 17.
He had a double-double of 26 points and 26 rebounds, while his team edged out Rustavi (#4, 12-4) 96-92. Sokhumi maintains the 8th position in Georgian league. Sokhumi is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-10 record. Atvashovili just recently signed at Sokhumi, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Sergo Atvashovili averages this season 19.4ppg and 18.2rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Nate Bowie (183-G-86) of Rustavi. He is American guard in his first season at Rustavi. In the last game Bowie recorded impressive double-double of 49 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Rustavi was edged by the lower-ranked Sokhumi (#8, 5-10) 96-92. Rustavi managed to keep the same 4th spot in the standings. His team's 12-4 record is not bad at all. Bowie is a newcomer at Rustavi and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.1ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 5.9rpg and 4.9apg.

Third place about best performers goes to center Kirk Archibeque (205-C-84) of league's leader MIA Academy. Archibeque scored 21 points and grabbed sixteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of MIA Academy, leading his team to a 77-62 easy win against #3 ranked Armia in a game of the week. MIA Academy confirms their top position in the standings Archibeque has a great season in Georgia. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.6ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 13.4rpg (#1 in league). He also has 1.2bpg and FGP: 57.5%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Serzhi Aselaini (198-F-91) of TSU Tbilisi - 20 points and 17 rebounds
5. Levan Revazashvili (207-C-92) of Samedicino - 25 points and 13 rebounds
6. Bosko Stojakovic (196-G-84) of Sokhumi - 26 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists
7. Milan Oluic (210-C-84) of Dinamo Tbilisi - 19 points and 9 rebounds
8. Richard Matiashvili (207-C-89) of Kutaisi - 19 points and 15 rebounds
9. Akaki Dvalishvili (206-PF-90) of Olimpi - 20 points and 9 rebounds
10. Kyle Nelson (203-F-89) of Rustavi - 23 points and 10 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Dinamo Leads the Final Series 2:0 - 25 minutes ago
The second game of the Final Series was played today between Dinamo and Kutaisi. This time Dinamo defeated Kurtaisi without any difficulties and leads the series 2:0. Yesterday was a bad day for Dinamo on the court, as they had the hardest time shooting from the distance, but today it was all vice-versa: they were more solid in every aspect of the game   [read more]
Rustavi Is the 3rd Place Holder - 28 minutes ago
The 3rd place holder of the Superleague 2017 is Rustavi. They defeated Cactus 93:85 and got the hit. The fate of the game was decided in the last period, but until then it was an equal game, changing the lead back and forth. In the 3rd period Rustavi managed to skip the difference in the score, as Cactus dominated before. They wasted the advantage and Rustavi played a more solid defensive style. Briggs, Atuashvili, Chachanidze and Lee were constructive on the court and did a 13:0 runaway...   [read more]
