Budivelnyk Kyiv (Superleague) is close to sign 24-year old Georgian international center Giorgi Shermadini (216-120kg-89) who played last time at Olympiacos S.F.P. Pireus in Greece. Shermadini managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year. In 17 A1 games he had 3.9ppg and 2.1rpg. He helped them to win the regular season and make it to the final. They also played in the cup final. Shermadini also played 17 games in Euroleague where he recorded 4.4ppg and 2.9rpg. He contributed to his team winning the Euroleague championship. Shermadini also played at Maccabi Electra Tel-Aviv (Winner League) in Israel that season. In 6 games he recorded 7.5ppg and 5.0rpg. He also played 9 games in Euroleague where he recorded 4.8ppg and 2.3rpg.
The previous (11-12) season Shermadini played at FoxTown Cantu (SerieA) in Italian league. In 22 games he recorded 9.0ppg and 5.2rpg. He contributed in the supercup final and the cup final. A very impressive season as he was named to Italian SerieA All-Star Game. He also played 16 games in Euroleague where he recorded 10.9ppg and 5.5rpg. Quite impressive season as he was named to Eurobasket.com All-Euroleague Honorable Mention. Shermadini also spent pre-season at Panathinaikos (A1) in Greek league that year.
In 2010-11 season he played at Union Olimpija Ljubljana (Telemach League) in Slovenia. The team played in three different competitions (!!!) that year, and Shermadini was exposed to basketball on different levels. In 21 Telemach League games he recorded 8.4ppg and 4.5rpg. He contributed to his team winning the cup and make to league final. Shermadini also played 16 games in Euroleague where he recorded 7.4ppg, 3.4rpg and 1.1bpg. He also played 24 games in Adriatic League where he recorded 6.7ppg and 4.1rpg. He contributed to his team making it to the final after they ended regular season as second best team.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as Shermadini was voted Eurobasket.com All-Georgian League Player of the Year and Eurobasket.com All-Georgian League Domestic Player of the Year back in 2008.
He was also a member of Georgian international program for some years. Shermadini played for Georgian Senior National Team between 2006 and 2012 and previously for U20 National Team between 2007 and 2008. He also represented Georgia at the Qualifications to European Championships 2013 last year. His stats at that event were 8 games: 5.1ppg, 4.6rpg, 1.0apg, 1.0bpg, FGP: 50.0%, FT: 91.3%.
Shermadini has played previously professionally in Slovenia (Un.Olimpija) and Georgia (Maccabi Tbilisi).
He could be described: Giorgi started playing basketball in January 2005, when he was 16 years old. Despite his brief playing experience, he became top international player in his age category, also ranked by DraftExpress.com in the summer of 2008. His stats on U20 European Championships 2008 all together appeared highest ever (21.5ppg, 10.5rpg, 3.7bpg, FGP 73.8%). A lot NBA scouts are considering Shermadini as a lottery pick on NBA Draft.

Newly promoted CS Politehnica Unirea Iasi (Liga Nationala) landed 31-year old Georgian international point guard Giorgi Tsintsadze (192-90kg-86). He played most recently at Kutaisi Kutaisi in Georgian Superleague. In 32 games he was fourth best scorer with impressive 17.4ppg and recorded 5.1rpg, 7.0apg (leader !!!) and 2.1spg (in top 3) last season. Philadelphia 76ers signed 28-year old Georgian point guard Jacob Pullen (184-85kg-89, college: Kansas State). He is a dual citizen owning also American passport. Pullen played last season at BC Khimki Moscow Region in Russian VTB league. In 17 Eurocup games he had 10.3ppg, 1.2rpg, 2.5apg and 1.1spg. He helped them to make it to the quarterfinals. CB Cornella (EBA) tabbed 26-year old Georgian forward Davit Ioseliani (207-91). He played most recently at Mgzavrebi in Georgian Superleague, but left the team in Dec.'15. In 9 games he averaged 3.1ppg, 2.0rpg and 1.1apg in 2015-16 season. Among other achievements Ioseliani received Eurobasket.com All-Georgian League Newcomer of the Year award back in 2008.
