CAI Zaragoza (Liga Endesa) tabbed 24-year old Georgian international center Giorgi Shermadini (216-120kg-89). Shermadini managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year (!!!). He played most recently at Olympiacos in Greek A1 league. In 17 games he averaged 3.9ppg and 2.1rpg. He helped them to win the regular season and make it to the final. They also played in the cup final. Shermadini also played 17 games in Euroleague where he had 4.4ppg and 2.9rpg. He contributed to his team winning the Euroleague championship. Shermadini also played at Maccabi Electra Tel-Aviv (Winner League) in Israel that season. In 6 games he had 7.5ppg and 5.0rpg. He also played 9 games in Euroleague where he had 4.8ppg and 2.3rpg.
The previous (11-12) season Shermadini played at FoxTown Cantu (SerieA) in Italian league. In 22 games he had 9.0ppg and 5.2rpg. He contributed in the supercup final and the cup final. He can count that season as a very successful as was selected to Italian SerieA All-Star Game. He also played 16 games in Euroleague where he had 10.9ppg and 5.5rpg. A very impressive season as he was selected to Eurobasket.com All-Euroleague Honorable Mention. Shermadini also spent pre-season at Panathinaikos (A1) in Greece that year.
In 2010-11 season he played at Union Olimpija Ljubljana (Telemach League) in Slovenia. The team played in three different competitions that year, and Shermadini was exposed to basketball on different levels. In 21 Telemach League games he had 8.4ppg and 4.5rpg. He contributed to his team winning the cup and make to league final. Shermadini also played 16 games in Euroleague where he had 7.4ppg, 3.4rpg and 1.1bpg. He also played 24 games in Adriatic League where he had 6.7ppg and 4.1rpg. He contributed to his team making it to the final after they ended regular season as second best team.
Among other achievements Shermadini received Eurobasket.com All-Georgian League Player of the Year award and Eurobasket.com All-Georgian League Domestic Player of the Year award back in 2008.
He has been also a member of Georgian international program for some years. Shermadini has regularly played for Georgian senior team since 2006 and previously for U20 National Team between 2007 and 2008. He also represented Georgia at the Qualifications to European Championships 2013 last year. His stats at that event were 8 games: 5.1ppg, 4.6rpg, 1.0apg, 1.0bpg, FGP: 50.0%, FT: 91.3%.
Shermadini has played previously professionally in Slovenia (Un.Olimpija) and Georgia (Maccabi Tbilisi).
Let's have closer look into His outlook: Giorgi started playing basketball in January 2005, when he was 16 years old. Despite his brief playing experience, he became top international player in his age category, also ranked by DraftExpress.com in the summer of 2008. His stats on U20 European Championships 2008 all together appeared highest ever (21.5ppg, 10.5rpg, 3.7bpg, FGP 73.8%). A lot NBA scouts are considering Shermadini as a lottery pick on NBA Draft.

Rustavi adds Cooper to their roster, ex KW Titans - 19 hours ago
BC Rustavi 1991 (Superleague) added to their roster American forward Paul Cooper (203-119kg, college: Arkansas Tech). He played last season at KW Titans in Canadian NBL, but was released by the team in Mar.'17. In 24 NBL Canada games he recorded 8.3ppg, 6.1rpg and 1.1apg. Part of previous (2016) summer Cooper spent at Atletico Tabare in Uruguayan Ascenso where in 5 games he averaged 12.8ppg, 11.0rpg, 1.0spg and 1.0bpg in 2016 season. Rustavi inks Brian Bernardi, ex NH Ostrava - 2 days ago
BC Rustavi 1991 (Superleague) signed 23-year old American guard Brian Bernardi (188-88kg-94, college: Hofstra, agency: Mansfield and Associates). He already started the season at NH Ostrava in NBL league in Czech Republic. In three games he had 8.0ppg, 2.0rpg and 1.3apg this season. Bernardi just graduated from Hofstra University and it is his first season as a pro. He played in the final of CAA Tournament in 2016.
