Center Sergo Atvashovili (223-C-85) had an amazing evening in the last round for Sokhumi, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 21.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 38 points and 16 rebounds, while his team outclassed Samedicino (#10, 2-17) with 29-point margin 95-66. Sokhumi maintains the 7th position in Georgian Superleague. Sokhumi is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 9-10 record. In the team's last game Atvashovili had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 11 attempts. He just recently signed at Sokhumi, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Sergo Atvashovili averages this season 19.0ppg and 17.1rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was 23-year old international center Richard Matiashvili (207-C-89) of Kutaisi. Matiashvili had a very good evening with a double-double of 31 points and 16 rebounds. Of course Kutaisi cruised to a 73-63 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked TSU Tbilisi (#8, 6-14). Kutaisi's 6th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 11-8 record is not bad and everything may still change. Matiashvili is well-known at Kutaisi and is a proven leader in his second season with the team. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.7ppg (#3). He also registered 12.6 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was international forward Akaki Dvalishvili (206-PF-90) of league's top team Olimpi. Dvalishvili showcased his all-around game by recording 24 points, nine rebounds and four assists in the last round. He was a key player of Olimpi, leading his team to a 123-66 easy win against the lower-ranked STU Tbilisi (#11, 1-18). Olimpi confirms their top position in the standings Dvalishvili has a very solid season. In 18 games in Georgia he scored 11.4ppg. He also has 6.8rpg and FGP: 60.6%.

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
