MIA dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Kutaisi's 24 and made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Kutaisi 42-24 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Kirk Archibeque (205-84, college: Fort Lewis) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Center Ilia Londaridze (205-89) contributed with 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four MIA players scored in double figures. Azerbaijani guard Zaur Pashayev (188-83) answered with 15 points and 6 assists and international center Richard Matiashvili (207-89) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Kutaisi. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

Olimpi - Armia 103-67 (1-0)

Olimpi outrebounded Armia 47-34 including 36 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Montenegrin center Stevan Milosevic (211-85, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds. American guard Darren Moore (190-89, college: Cal-Irvine) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Olimpi's coach George Kazanjian felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward George Jgerenaia (206-90, college: N.Georgia) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and the former international point guard Giorgi Gamqrelidze (183-86, agency: FCM) added 15 points and 4 assists in the effort for Armia. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures.

Rustavi adds Cooper to their roster, ex KW Titans - 8 hours ago
BC Rustavi 1991 (Superleague) added to their roster American forward Paul Cooper (203-119kg, college: Arkansas Tech). He played last season at KW Titans in Canadian NBL, but was released by the team in Mar.'17. In 24 NBL Canada games he recorded 8.3ppg, 6.1rpg and 1.1apg. Part of previous (2016) summer Cooper spent at Atletico Tabare in Uruguayan Ascenso where in 5 games he averaged 12.8ppg, 11.0rpg, 1.0spg and 1.0bpg in 2016 season. BC Rustavi 1991 (Superleague) signed 23-year old American guard Brian Bernardi (188-88kg-94, college: Hofstra, agency: Mansfield and Associates). He already started the season at NH Ostrava in NBL league in Czech Republic. In three games he had 8.0ppg, 2.0rpg and 1.3apg this season. Bernardi just graduated from Hofstra University and it is his first season as a pro. He played in the final of CAA Tournament in 2016.
