MIA Academy - Kutaisi 83-62 (1-0)

MIA dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Kutaisi's 24 and made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Kutaisi 42-24 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Kirk Archibeque (205-84, college: Fort Lewis) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Center Ilia Londaridze (205-89) contributed with 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four MIA players scored in double figures. Azerbaijani guard Zaur Pashayev (188-83) answered with 15 points and 6 assists and international center Richard Matiashvili (207-89) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Kutaisi. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

Olimpi outrebounded Armia 47-34 including 36 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Montenegrin center Stevan Milosevic (211-85, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds. American guard Darren Moore (190-89, college: Cal-Irvine) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Olimpi's coach George Kazanjian felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward George Jgerenaia (206-90, college: N.Georgia) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and the former international point guard Giorgi Gamqrelidze (183-86, agency: FCM) added 15 points and 4 assists in the effort for Armia. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures.

C.B. Torrons Vicens L'Hospitalet (LEB Silver) landed 23-year old Georgian center Shota Gelazonia (205-94) from Xuven Cambados. In 34 LEB Silver games in Spain he averaged 9.8ppg and 4.9rpg last season. The previous (15-16) season Gelazonia played at Blancos de Rueda where in 16 LEB Silver games he had 11.4ppg and 7.3rpg. Mgzavrebi lands Jacolby Mobley - 9 days ago
Mgzavrebi-Armia Tbilisi (Superleague) tabbed 25-year old American guard Jacolby Mobley (183-73kg-92). He just graduated from Tenn-Martin (NCAA). In 28 games he averaged impressive 19.6ppg, 2.9rpg, 2.1apg and 1.0spg last season. Mobley helped them to win the regular season and make it to the OVC Tournament final.
