Sidigas Avellino (SerieA) tabbed 27-year old American (has also Georgian passport) power forward Will Thomas (203-100kg-86, agency: Two Points). He played most recently at Pinar Karsiyaka SK Izmir in Turkish TBL league. In 30 games he averaged 11.2ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.2apg last season. He helped them to make it to the semifinals (defeat against the future champions Galatarasay). Thomas also played 17 games in EuroChallenge where he had 14.3ppg, 7.4rpg and 1.8apg. He contributed to his team making it to the final (defeat for one point against Samara). He can count that season as a very successful as was selected to Eurobasket.com All-EuroChallenge 1st Team.
The previous (11-12) season Thomas played at Armia (Superleague) in Georgia with Jeremy Richardson (200-G/F-84, college: Delta St.). In 26 games he had very impressive stats: 16.8ppg, 7.7rpg and 1.9apg. He contributed to his team winning the league title. A very impressive season as he was awarded Eurobasket.com All-Georgian League Forward of the Year, selected to 1st Team and selected to All-Imports Team. Thomas also played 6 games in EuroChallenge where he had 15.0ppg, 11.3rpg, 1.5apg and 1.5spg.
In 2010-11 season he played at Base Oostende (Ethias League) in Belgium. In 37 games he had 11.0ppg, 5.5rpg and 1.1apg. He contributed to his team making it to the cup final and to the league semifinals. Impressive indeed as was selected to Eurobasket.com All-Belgian League Honorable Mention. He also played 17 games in EuroChallenge where he had 12.1ppg and 6.6rpg. He contributed to his team making it to the semifinals.
In 2009-10 season Thomas played at Liege Basket (Ethias League) in Belgium for the second consecutive year (after winning the Supercup in the previous season). In 39 games he had 14.6ppg, 9.1rpg (best rebounder of the league) and 1.9spg. He contributed to his team winning the regular season and make it to the final. Impressive indeed as was awarded Eurobasket.com All-Belgian League Player of the Year, Import Player of the Year and Eurobasket.com All-Belgian League Defensive Player of the Year. He also played 12 games in EuroChallenge where he had 13.0ppg, 8.2rpg (#2 in the league) and 1.2apg. Impressive indeed as was selected to Eurobasket.com All-EuroChallenge 3rd Team.
In 2007/2008 concluded his college experience with George Mason (16.1ppg and 10.4rpg in his senior year) leaving several records and reaching an incredible NCAA Final Four in 2006!

Cactus Tbilisi edged Sokhumi at home 82-80. Cactus Tbilisi forced 20 Sokhumi turnovers. American guard Chris Johnson (190-91, college: St.Catharine) fired 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Guard Davit Lomidze (196-97) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds.
