BC Donetsk (Superleague) added to their roster 27-year old Georgian international point guard Georgi Tsintsadze (192-90kg-86). It is actually his comeback to Donetsk as he played here before. Tsintsadze played last season at Budivelnyk (Superleague). In 54 games he recorded 9.1ppg, 3.0rpg, 4.2apg and 1.3spg. He helped them to win the league title. A very spectacular season in his career as he was voted to All-Ukrainian Superleague Honorable Mention. Tsintsadze also played 16 games in Eurocup where he averaged 8.2ppg, 2.6rpg, 3.9apg and 1.1spg.
The previous (11-12) season he played at Olimpi in Georgian league. In 12 Superleague games he averaged impressive 15.8ppg, 4.8rpg, 4.7apg and 1.4spg that season. He contributed to his team making it to the final. Great season indeed as he was selected All-Georgian League Domestic Player of the Year and voted to 1st Team and to the All-Star Game.
In 2010-11 season Tsintsadze played at TU/Rock (KML) in Estonian league. The team played in three different competitions (!!!) that year, and he was exposed to basketball on different levels. In 33 KML games he averaged 7.8ppg, 3.2rpg, 3.2apg (top 3) and 1.8spg. He contributed to his team winning the cup and make to league final. Tsintsadze also played 6 games in EuroChallenge where he averaged 10.7ppg, 2.8rpg, 3.3apg and 1.5spg. He also played 23 games in Baltic League where he averaged 9.5ppg, 2.9rpg, 2.9apg and 1.2spg. He contributed to his team making it to the quarterfinals. A very good season in his career as he was voted to Baltic League All-Bosmans Team.
In 2009-10 season Tsintsadze played at Trefl Sopot (TBL) in Polish league. In 9 games he averaged 3.6ppg, 2.0rpg, 3.1apg and 1.0spg. He also played at BC Donetsk that season. In two EuroChallenge games he averaged 4.0ppg, 1.5rpg, 4.5apg and 2.5spg. Tsintsadze also played 1 game in VTB United League where he had 9 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. He also spent pre-season at Trikalla (D) in Greek league that year. In 6 games he averaged 5.3ppg, 2.7apg and 1.0spg.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as Tsintsadze was voted All-Estonian League Player of the Year back in 2009.
He has been also a member of Georgian international program for some years. Tsintsadze has regularly played for Georgian senior team since 2004 and previously for U20 National Team between 2005 and 2006. He also represented Georgia at the Qualifications to European Championships 2013 last year. His stats at that event were 8 games: 11.0ppg, 3.8rpg, Assists-5 (5.1apg), 2.3spg, FGP: 47.7%, 3PT: 43.5%, FT: 88.9%.
Tsintsadze has played previously professionally in Italy and Russia (Dynamo Moscow, Ural Great, Krasnie Krilya and Krasnye Krylya Toliatti U23).
On Tsintsadze: Great point guard and solid all-around player, who not only dishes assists for the teammates, but who can also score in double digits every night. He can drive and penetrate and he's never losing his confidence. Good decision-maker who can run any team in the top level thanks to his court vision and ball handling.
