Georgia U18-Austria U18 55:64

Austria post the initial win in Strumica at the U18 European Championship in Division B. They overcame Georgia 64:55 and improved to 1-2 record. Georgia meanwhile remained winless at the tournament.
Both teams entered the game without victories and tried hard to achieve the first one. Austria won the first period 19:14, but Georgia replied with a 13-9 rally in the second frame. The third quarter was decisive in the game as Austria needed a defensive 16-5 burst to seal the victory.
Jakob Poltl (213-C-95) top-scored for the winners with 25 points and 16 rebounds, while Fabian Richter (192-F/G-95) nailed 10. Marc Goetzinger (184-PG-96, college: Wuerzburg) scored 9 and Marin Sliskovic (200-SF-95) added 6. Luka Zakradze (187-PG-96) replied with 15 points in the losing effort, whilst Sandro Sanadze (188-PG-95) had 14. Archili Puluzashvili (200-C-95) ended up with 7 points in defeat and Giorgi Dvali (180-SG-95) had 6.

The Regular Season in Superleague just ended. The most shocking disappointment of round 28 was a home defeat of 3rd ranked Energy Invest (13-15) to fourth ranked Cactus Tbilisi (14-14) 77-71 in the game for the third place. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 31-20. But Energy Invest won second period 19-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Defending champion Club Universidad San Simon (Libobasquet) strengthened their roster with addition of 26-year old American guard Matt Glover (196-96kg-91, college: USF). It is actually his comeback to Cochabamba as he has played here before. Glover He played recently at Hyundai-TSU Tbilisi in Georgian A League. This week's number one is an international forward Tornike Shengelia (206-91). He could not help Baskonia (17-13) in their last game.
