Here is the weekly review of the top performing Georgian players, who play currently abroad.

Viktor Sanikidze
Viktor Sanikidze
#1. This week's number one is an international small forward Viktor Sanikidze (203-86, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian SerieA. He could not help one of league's weakest teams Montepaschi Siena (14-8) in their last game. Despite Sanikidze's good performance Montepaschi Siena was crushed 94-70 on the road by the higher-ranked (#3) Lottomatica Roma. He was the second best scorer with 13 points. Sanikidze also added 5 rebounds in 20 minutes on the court. It's Sanikidze's first season with the team. This year he averages: 7.5ppg, 5.8rpg, 1.1apg, 2FGP: 61.5%(48-78), 3FGP: 44.4% and FT: 66.0% in the 22 games he played so far. Sanikidze is currently a member of the Georgian senior national team.

Manuchar Markoishvili
Manuchar Markoishvili
#2. Second place goes to an international small forward Manuchar Markoishvili (196-86, currently plays in Turkey). He led Galatasaray to a victory against the seventh-ranked TED Kolejliler (11-10) 94-86 in the Turkish TBL in Saturday night's game. Markoishvili scored 11 points and added 4 assists. Galatasaray Medical Park Istanbul (19-4) is placed second in the TBL. Markoishvili's overall stats this season are: 9.0ppg, 1.5apg, 2FGP: 55.0%, 3FGP: 42.9% and FT: 83.3%. He is in the roster of the Georgian senior national team.

Corey Fisher
Corey Fisher
#3. The Georgian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international point guard Corey Fisher (186-88, college: Villanova, currently plays in Spain). Fisher led FIATC Joventut to a 1-point victory over the 12th-ranked UCAM Murcia (10-14) 80-79 in the Spanish ACB last Sunday. He was MVP of the game. Fisher scored 18 points in 21 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. FIATC Joventut Badalona (12-12) is placed eighth in the ACB. Fisher has relatively good stats this year: 13.7ppg, 2.3rpg, 2.8apg, 2FGP: 43.3%, 3FGP: 36.6% and FT: 81.8% in the 23 games. He is a naturalized American. Despite Fisher played previously for the USA university national team, he is currently a member of the Georgian senior national team. Strangely Fisher has never played in Georgia.

Georgi Tsintsadze

Tsintsadze's overall stats this season are: 7.6ppg, 2.8rpg, 3.6apg and 1.4spg. He is also Georgian national team player.

International power forward Nika Metreveli (211-91, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian Nazionale A (third division) was not able to help Omegna (13-12) in their last game. Despite Metreveli's very good performance Omegna lost 59-67 at home to the higher-ranked (#6) Torino. He was the top scorer with 19 points. Metreveli also added 7 rebounds in 28 minutes. It was Omegna's third consecutive loss in a row. This year Metreveli has relatively solid stats: 13.2ppg, 7.2rpg and 1.2spg in the nine games. He has a dual citizenship: Georgian and Italian. Metreveli plays currently for the Georgian national team.

Nikoloz Tskitishvili
Nikoloz Tskitishvili
#6. Power forward Nikoloz Tskitishvili (212-83, agency: Regeneracom Sports, currently plays in Lebanon), who plays in the Lebanese Division A was not able to secure a victory for Champville (12-7) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his good performance Champville was badly defeated 71-51 on the opponent's court by the lower-ranked Byblos (#6). Tskitishvili was the second best scorer with 10 points. He also added 6 rebounds. There are only four games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game will be critical. Tskitishvili is currently fourth on the list of best rebounders and also on the list of best blockers (first place). He has individually a very good season with high stats. Tskitishvili averages: 18.2ppg, 11.2rpg, 2.4apg and 2.5bpg. He is a former international player as he played for the Georgian senior team two years ago.

Georges Mdivani
Georges Mdivani
#7. Former international center Georges Mdivani (204-85, agency: Promotex, currently plays in France) contributed to Rueil's victory against the fifth-ranked Quimper UJAP (14-8) 67-61 in the French NM1 (third division) in Saturday night's game. Mdivani recorded 7 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Rueil Athletic Club (12-11) is placed ninth in the NM1. Mdivani's overall stats this season are: 7.3ppg and 6.0rpg. He used to play for the Georgian national team eight years ago.

Davit Maisuradze
Davit Maisuradze
#8. Power forward Davit Maisuradze (205-90, currently plays in Ukraine) managed to help Kirovograd in a victory against one of league's weakest teams BK Kremen (2-22) crushing them 94-53 in the Ukrainian Higher League (second division) last Sunday. Maisuradze scored only 4 points in 21 minutes. Kirovograd (10-18) is placed eighth in the Higher League. This year Maisuradze's overall stats are: 8.8ppg, 4.6rpg and 1.3apg in the 26 games. He used to play for the Georgian U16 national team back in 2006.

The list of other players, who all have Georgian passport but never been selected to any of Georgian national teams:

#1. Will Thomas (203-PF-86, currently plays in EuroChallenge), who plays in Turkey could not help Karsiyaka (4-2) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the first-placed Karsiyaka was edged 76-74 at home by the second-ranked Paris-Levallois in the group I of EuroChallenge. Thomas had a double-double by scoring 25 points and getting 10 rebounds in 35 minutes. Thomas is currently sixth on the league's list of best rebounders with 7.5rpg. He also averaged so far 13.8ppg and 1.8apg in the 13 games he played so far. Thomas is a naturalized American. He used to play for Army Sport Klub Tbilisi in Georgian league.

#2. Quinton Hosley (201-F/G-84, college: Fresno St., currently plays in Poland) led Stelmet ZG to a 2-point victory over the fourth-ranked PGE Turow 91-89 in the Polish TBL last Friday. Hosley was MVP of the game. He recorded 24 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Stelmet Zielona Gora (0-1) is placed sixth in Places 1-6 group. It's Hosley's first season with the team. Hosley is ranked fourth on the list of the top scorers in the league and also on the list of most steals (first place). He has individually a very good season with high stats. Hosley averages: 15.8ppg, 5.8rpg, 2.9apg and 2.1spg. He is a naturalized American. Strangely Hosley has never played in Georgia.

#3. Melvin Sanders (196-F/G-81, college: Oklahoma St., currently plays in Turkey) is a teammate of previously mentioned Will Thomas. But that was another game of his team in Turkish TBL which we would like to mention. Sanders was not able to help Karsiyaka (16-5) in their game against Gaziantep (8-13). He cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. Sanders scored only 2 points in 7 minutes on the court. It was his first game for Karsiyaka this season. Karsiyaka lost 57-66 on their home court in Karsiyaka to the lower-ranked (#11) Gaziantep. Sanders is a naturalized American. Apparently he has never played in Georgia.
