The hosts trailed by 10 points at the halftime before their 52-25 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. ChemCats Chemnitz forced 23 Berlin turnovers. Strangely Berlin outrebounded ChemCats Chemnitz 36-22 including 25 on the offensive glass. American guard Eryn Jones (172-90, college: Portland St.) stepped up and scored 25 points and 5 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws) for the winners and her fellow American import forward Candace Williams (183-88, college: New Hampshire) chipped in 22 points and 7 rebounds. Four ChemCats Chemnitz players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Noemie Rouault (180-95) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds and Lena Gohlisch (173-93) scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.

American forward Bonae Holston (180-90, college: N.Carolina St.) nailed 20 points and 4 steals for the winning side and her fellow American import forward Colleen Planeta (188-88, college: Point Loma) accounted for 13 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Stefanie Grigoleit (186-89) came up with 12 points and 6 rebounds and American swingman Alissa Pierce (177-86) added 13 points respectively for Gruner Stern Keltern in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

Herner TC (DBBL) strengthened their roster with addition of 22-year old American center Alecia Cooley (190-95). Cooley just graduated from Arkansas (NCAA). Osnabruecker TB (2.Bundesliga) signed 23-year old American guard N'Dea Bryant (183-94, college: N.Carolina) from GiroLive Panthers Osnabruck SC. In 25 2.Bundesliga games in Germany she had 11.8ppg, 9.2rpg, 2.3spg and 1.3bpg last season. She helped them to make it to the group semifinals.
