Panathinaikos demolish Alba Berlin in Athens in Group E of EuroLeague. The Greek side improved to 7-4 record and bettered their chances for the Quarterfinals. Alba Berlin dropped at 1-10 record.
Panathinaikos Athens did not waste the time and took control of the game from the very beginning. The hosts erupted with 21-11 lead in the first period and added massive 29-17 in the second frame. Moreover the Greek side limited the opponents to just 9 points in the third quarter and reached 67:37 after 30 minutes. Alba Berlin could post 21-15 in the last period and reduced to final 24 points.
Jonas Maciulis (199-F/G-85) top-scored for the winners with 16 points and Stephane Lasme (203-F-82, college: Massachusetts) netted 14. Sofoklis Schortsanitis (206-C-85) scored 10, whilst Dimitris Diamantidis (196-G-80) and Marcus Banks (188-G-81, college: UNLV) added 8 apiece. DaShaun Wood (185-PG-85, college: Wright St.) had only 9 in defeat and Nihad Djedovic (198-F-90, agency: Beo Basket) produced 8 points.

Regionaliga team SSV Lok Bernau have announced that Benito Barreras (191-G-89) will remain to strap on their jersey this season. Barreras is a 23 191 cm guard that was born in Cuba, but has been living in Berlin since he was 16 years old. Last season for SSV Lok Bernau he played 21 games: 7.8ppg, 2.7rpg, 2.5apg, 1.1spg. The Eisbaeren Bremerhaven announced today that Bremerhaven head coach Calvin Oldham will be assisted on the sidelines by Hamed Attarbashi .
