Alyssa Karel
23-year old guard Alyssa Karel (170-G-89) had a very impressive game in the last round for Rhein MB and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 20.
She had a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds, while her team edged out Freiburg (10-10) 72-68. Rhein MB is placed at 6th position in German DBBL. Rhein MB is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 10-10 record. In the team's last game Karel had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range. She turned to be Rhein MB's top player in her first season with the team. Alyssa Karel averages this season 14.0ppg.

Second best performed player last round was Vanessa House (170-G-88) of BG 89 Avides. She is American guard in her first season at BG 89 Avides. In the last game House recorded impressive double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as BG 89 Avides lost that game 57-70 to slightly higher-ranked Bamberg (6-14). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. BG 89 Avides keeps 11th position. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-14 record. House is a newcomer at BG 89 Avides and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.3ppg (#9). Her other stats are also decent: 5.9rpg and 3.2apg.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Markeshia Grant (167-G) of Oberhausen (#8). Grant scored 26 points. She was a key player of Oberhausen, leading her team to a 71-69 win against the lower-ranked Herner (#12, 6-14). The chances of Oberhausen ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 11 games, recording just nine victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Grant could help Oberhausen to bring them higher in the standings. Grant has a very solid season. In 9 games in Germany she scored 12.6ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Tamara Tatham (185-F-85) of Halle - 19 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Emma Cannon (188-F-89) of Wasserburg - 20 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Ofa Tulikihihifo (180-G/F-84) of Herner - 22 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Samantha Whitcomb (178-G) of Wolfenbuettel - 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists
8. Rebecca Thoresen (178-F/G-78) of Wasserburg - 18 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Angela Pace (178-G-87) of Osnabruck - 15 points and 10 rebounds
10. Binta Drammeh (180-F-92) of Bamberg - 25 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
