The Regular Season in DBBL just ended.

The most important game in the last round took place in Rotenburg between second ranked SV Halle Lions (13-9) and twelfth ranked Rotenburg/Scheessel (7-15) on Saturday night. SV Halle Lions were defeated by Rotenburg/Scheessel in a tough game on the road 61-67. SV Halle Lions were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. American guard Vanessa House (170-88, college: W.Virginia) fired 21 points and 4 assists for the winners. The other American import power forward Samantha Meissel (188-88, college: Indianapolis) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Canadian forward Tamara Tatham (185-85, college: Massachusetts) produced 18 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Newly promoted Rotenburg/Scheessel maintains twelfth position with 7-15 record. SV Halle Lions at the other side keep the second place with nine games lost. They share the position with Wolfenbuettel.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Wildcats Wolfenbuettel (13-9) against tenth ranked BC Pharmaserv Marburg (8-14) on Saturday night. Visiting Wildcats Wolfenbuettel was edged by BC Pharmaserv Marburg in a tough game in Marburg 78-81. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Margret Skuballa (186-87) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists. Finja Schaake contributed with 22 points for the winners. American guard Brianne O'Rourke (171-87, college: Penn St.) replied with 16 points and 6 rebounds for Wildcats Wolfenbuettel. Wildcats Wolfenbuettel's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. BC Pharmaserv Marburg moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Herner and Bamberg. Defending champion Wildcats Wolfenbuettel dropped to the second position with nine games lost. They share it with Halle.

They maintain first position. Loser Rhein Main Baskets dropped to the eighth place with 12 games lost.
A very interesting game took place in Herne. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Eisvogel Freiburg (11-11) to eleventh ranked Herner TC (8-14) 100-98 on Saturday evening. Teya Wright notched 34 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds to lead the effort. Herner TC's coach Marek Piotrowski allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Herner TC moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Marburg and Bamberg. Eisvogel Freiburg at the other side keeps the fifth position with 11 games lost.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Osnabruck, where higher ranked Osnabruck (12-10) was outleveled at home by ninth ranked Don Bosco Bamberg (8-14) 87-59 on Saturday. Binta Drammeh fired 27 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Don Bosco Bamberg have an impressive five-game winning streak. Newly promoted Don Bosco Bamberg maintains ninth position with 8-14 record, which they share with Marburg and Herner. Osnabruck at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourth place with ten games lost.

In the last game of round 22 Oberhausen defeated Heli Girls in a road game 62-57.

Rhein MB - Wasserburg 82-88

Leader TSV 1880 Wasserburg delivered the twentiethth victory on Saturday night. This time they beat 7th ranked Rhein Main Baskets (10-12) 88-82 in Langen. Rhein Main Baskets were trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 24-16 charge of TSV 1880 Wasserburg, which allowed them to win the game. TSV 1880 Wasserburg outrebounded Rhein Main Baskets 33-22 including 21 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American forward Emma Cannon (188-89, college: Cent.Florida) scored 25 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international swingman Anne Breitreiner (183-84, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists during the contest. There was a minor upset in Noerdlingen where 6th ranked Heli Girls (11-11) were defeated by eighth ranked Oberhausen (11-11) 62-57 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 12-5 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Oberhausen dominated on the defensive end, holding Heli Girls to just 5 points in fourth quarter. Fijian guard Valerie Nainima (165-86, college: S.Carolina) fired 23 points and 4 steals for the winners. American center Chanita Jordan (196-87, college: Bowie St., agency: Gamble Sports Management) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Finnish swingman Heta Korpivaara (186-84, college: Seton Hall, agency: Regeneracom Sports) produced 26 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Morgan Henderson (185-88, college: San Diego) added 12 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. But then BC Pharmaserv Marburg took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 3 points. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Margret Skuballa (186-87) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists. International forward Finja Schaake (179-92) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Four BC Pharmaserv Marburg players scored in double figures. Gruner Stern Keltern (DBBL) landed 29-year old Belarusian international swingman Tatsiana Likhtarovich (180-88). She played most recently at UNI Gyor in Hungarian A Division. In 25 games she averaged 9.4ppg, 3.3rpg, 2.2apg and 1.3spg last season. Likhtarovich helped them to make it to the semifinals.
