Tamara
Tatham
27-year old forward Tamara Tatham (185-F-85) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Halle and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 17.
She had the game-high 26 points adding nine rebounds and two assists for Halle in her team's victory, helping them to crush Wolfenbuettel (#3, 10-7) with 21-point margin 75-54. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Halle is placed at 2nd position in German DBBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Halle will need more victories to improve their 11-6 record. Tatham has many years of experience at Halle, through which he has constantly improved. University of Massachusetts graduate has very impressive stats this year. Tatham is in league's top in points (2nd best: 18.5ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 10.2rpg) and averages solid 2.3spg.

Second best performed player last round was Emma Cannon (188-F-89) of top-ranked Wasserburg. She is American forward in her first season at Wasserburg. In the last game Cannon recorded impressive double-double of 22 points and 14 rebounds. Of course she lead Wasserburg to another comfortable win 73-58 over the lower-ranked Oberhausen (#9, 7-10) being unquestionably team leader. Of course Wasserburg still keep the league's top spot. Her team lost just two games this season, while they won 15 matches. Cannon is a newcomer at Wasserburg and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.5ppg (#1). She also registered 14.8 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Teya Wright (185-F-89) of Herner (#11). Wright scored 20 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Herner, leading her team to a 80-63 easy win against slightly higher-ranked BG 89 Avides (#10, 6-11). Herner can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 5-12 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Wright she does not play for a better team. But maybe if she did, her season stats would not be that high. Wright has individually a great season in Germany. After 13 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.2rpg (9th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Samantha Meissel (188-F/C-88) of BG 89 Avides - 23 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Quenese Davis (178-G-88) of Herner - 13 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Yadira Francis (186-F-85) of Heli Girls - 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Amanda Rego (170-G-86) of Heli Girls - 12 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists
8. Ali Schwagmeyer (180-F-90) of Osnabruck - 18 points and 9 rebounds
9. Tina Menz (174-G/F-88) of Marburg - 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Melissa Dalembert (191-F-87) of Wasserburg - 13 points and 10 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
