Italy U20 - Germany U20 77:64

Italy posted the fifth straight win at the U20 European Championship. They knocked down German counterparts in Group F action. The Azzurri improved at 4-1 record, while Germany slipped at 0-5.
Italy opened the game with eight straight points to set the tone. The Azzurri opened a 19:12 lead after ten minutes. Italy maintained the advantage throughout the second period. They built a 38:30 halftime advantage. Italy boosted the lead in the third term. They ensured a 57:45 cushion heading into the fourth frame. The margin grew at 19-point mark midway through the period and Italy cruised to the win at the end. Ilaria Milazzo (167-PG-94) posted 24 points to lead Italy. Francesca Dotto (170-PG-93) and Elisa Penna (186-SG-95) contributed 10 points apiece in the win. Carla Bellscheidt (183-F-94) and Katharina Mueller (181-F-94) had 10 points each in the defeat.

24-year old forward Kim Pierre-Louis (183-F-93) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's best team Donau-Ries and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 1. The Regular Season in DBBL just started. First defeat of league's leader Fireballs (0-1) against TSV 1880 Wasserburg (1-0) 96-66 was the most important game of the last round. Herner TC (DBBL) strengthened their roster with addition of 22-year old American center Alecia Cooley (190-95). Cooley just graduated from Arkansas (NCAA).
