Artemis
Spanou
Greece - Poland 61:46

Greece registered a comfortable home win in the opening game of the 2015 EuroBasket Qualifying Round Finals. They overcame Poland by 15 points to build what seems to be a comfortable cushion before the return leg in Poland. Artemis Spanou (183-F-93) posted 18 points and 8 boards to lead the winners.
Greece stormed into the game. The Hellenes rallied to a 23:10 lead after ten minutes. Poland regrouped defensively and made with a sizzling performance in the second frame. The visitors held Greece to 8 points to cut the deficit at 9-point mark. But the hosts were back in control after the big break. The Hellenes answered with their own stifling defensive effort in the third quarter and piled up a 13-point lead at the final intermission. Greece kept Poland at bay throughout the fourth period and raced to a comfortable win at the end. Peli Papamichail (189-F/C-86, agency: Josep and Nicolas) delivered 12 points for the winners. Paulina Pawlak (170-PG-84, agency: Data Plus Group) and Weronika Idczak (177-G-89) had 11 points apiece for Poland.

Greece: Artemis Spanou 18, Peli Papamichail 12, Zoi Dimitrakou 9
Poland: Paulina Pawlak 11, Weronika Idczak 11
