There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in A1.

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Thessaloniki. Third ranked Panionios faced 4th ranked PAOK. Guests from Athens (19-5) defeated host PAOK (17-7) 66-59. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 66-59. Panionios made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 PAOK turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Nikos Pappas (195-90, agency: FCM) who scored 17 points. American point guard William Keys (188-77, college: N.Mexico St.) chipped in 7 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Lazaros Papadopoulos (210-80) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Panionios have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. PAOK at the other side keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Panionios' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens Olympiacos.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Dramas, where higher ranked AGOR (15-9) lost to ninth ranked KAOD (9-15) in a road game 80-84. It was a good game for Bosnian power forward Edin Bavcic (209-84, agency: Beo Basket) who led his team to a victory with 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Kevin Palmer contributed with 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American guard Marc Antonio Carter (191-85, college: NC-Wilmington) replied with 15 points and 7 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for AGOR. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. KAOD maintains ninth position with 9-15 record. AGOR at the other side keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. KAOD will play against Ilysiakos (#11) in Athens in the next round. AGOR will play at home against Peristeri GS (#13) in Athens and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Kalitheas. Local Ikaros (12-12) beat 10th ranked Ilysiakos (7-16) 86-71 on Saturday night. Worth to mention a quality performance of Mouhammad Faye who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. Ikaros' coach Dimitris Priftis used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was Aloysius Anagonye with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Ikaros maintains sixth position with 12-12 record. Loser Ilysiakos dropped to the eleventh place with 16 games lost. Ikaros will meet Panelefsiniakos (#12) in the next round where they are favorite. Ilysiakos will play against KAOD in Dramas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 24 Kolossos defeated Kavala in Rodou 70-66. Peristeri GS was beaten by Aris at home 57-68.

AGOR was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. American swingman Kevin Palmer (198-87, college: Texas A&M-CC) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. There was no surprise when 14th ranked Kavala (5-18) was defeated at home by eleventh ranked Kolossos (8-16) 70-66 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Kavala won third quarter 24-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kolossos made 27-of-33 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Kolossos had a 26-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American-DR Congolese power forward Bambale Osby (203-86, college: Maryland) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) and American point guard Marcus Hatten (186-80, college: St.John's) who added 10 points and 4 assists during the contest. Osby is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was Scottish-Nigerian Kieron Achara (208-83, college: Duquesne, agency: Two Points) with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Christoforos Stefanidis (184-80) scored 16 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Kolossos moved-up to tenth place. Kavala lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 18 games lost. Kolossos will meet higher ranked Panathinaikos (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Kavala will play against Aris (#7) in Thessaloniki and hope to secure a win.

No shocking result in a game in Athens where eighth ranked Aris (11-13) defeated 13th ranked Peristeri GS (6-18) 68-57 on Saturday. The game without a history. Aris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Sotiris Karapostolou (194-78, college: S.New Hampshire, agency: FCM) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and the former international forward Michalis Pelekanos (198-81, agency: FCM) who added 7 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Aris' coach Vangelis Agelou used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American guard Smush Parker (193-81, college: Fordham) with 20 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Tyler Hines (198-90, college: Md-E Shore) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Aris moved-up to seventh place. Loser Peristeri GS keeps the thirteenth position with 18 games lost.
