Brock's double-double lands her Player of the Week award - Feb 18, 2013

Breanna
Brock
22-year old forward Breanna Brock (187-F-90) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked AO Ellinikou and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 17.
She had a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds, while her team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team GAC Eunikos (#12, 0-17) with 30-point margin 89-59. AO Ellinikou maintains the 2nd position in Greek A1. They are still close to the very top. AO Ellinikou would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 15-2 record. Brock turned to be AO Ellinikou's top player in her first season with the team. University of Missouri graduate has very impressive stats this year. Brock is in league's top in points (7th best: 14.8ppg), rebounds (8th best: 8.9rpg) and averages solid 57.7% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Aggeliki Tserou (185-C-74) of Asteras. She is a center in her first season at Asteras. In the last game Tserou recorded impressive double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Asteras lost that game 67-72 to slightly higher-ranked Ikaros Kalitheas (#6, 9-8). Asteras is still in a red zone at 8th spot in the standings. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-11 record. Tserou is a newcomer at Asteras and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Niki Zerva (183-F-79) of Olympiakos (#10). Zerva scored 20 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Olympiakos, leading her team to a 77-50 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Panionios (#11, 2-15). Olympiakos can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 5-12 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Zerva she does not play for a better team. But maybe if she did, her season stats would not be that high. Zerva has individually a great season in Greece. After 16 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.8ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 10.3rpg (4th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Roula Kalogirou (172-G-81) of Ikaros Kalitheas - 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists
5. Anastasia Gotzi) of Kronos AD - 28 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Roula Mouli (177-G-85) of Aris - 21 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Nikolina Ioannidou (174-SG-94) of GAC Eunikos - 19 points and 9 rebounds
8. Dimitra Kalentzou (174-G-78) of Panathinaikos - 13 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists
9. Eleana Pantazi (177-G-83) of Terpsithea - 26 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Zafiria Giabani (185-F-92) of Panionios - 18 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
