Alexandros
Sigounas
Forward Alexandros Sigounas (200-F-88) had a very impressive game in the last round for Arkadikos, receiving a Eurobasket.com A2 Player of the Week award for round 25.
The 24-year old player had a double-double of 23 points and 15 rebounds, while his team beat Niki Volou (#13, 6-19) 74-66. Arkadikos is placed at 8th position in Greek A2. Arkadikos is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 10-15 record. In the team's last game Sigounas had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Arkadikos' top player in his first season with the team. Alexandros Sigounas has solid league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 7.6rpg) and averages impressive 54.1% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 32-year old Nikos Psileas (200-F-80) of Agia Paraskevis. Psileas had a very good evening with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. It was enough for Agia Paraskevis to edge the lower-ranked Ermis Lagkada (#11, 9-16) 70-68. Despite this victory Agia Paraskevis slide down in the standings to 7th position. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 14-11 record is not bad and everything may still change. Psileas is a newcomer at Agia Paraskevis, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.6ppg (#7). He also registered 7.2 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Petros Noeas (204-F-87) of Koroivos (#4). Noeas showcased his all-around game by recording 18 points, nine rebounds and four assists in the last round. Despite Noeas' great performance Koroivos lost 72-82 to #1 ranked Filathlitikos. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Koroivos needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 17 victories and 8 lost games. Noeas has a great season in Greece. After 25 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.6rpg (#1 in league). He also has FGP: 54.7% and 3PT: 40.4%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Vaggelis Karaboulas (198-F-81) of Nea Kifisia - 28 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Alpha Dialo) of Irakleio - 17 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Nikos Katsares (190-G-83) of Trikalla - 11 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists
7. Vasilis Angelakopoulos (203-F-79) of Trikalla - 11 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists
8. Aristo Nikoloudis (202-F-82) of Ikaroi Serron - 23 points and 5 rebounds
9. Yiannis Psathas (201-F-83) of Nea Kifisia - 14 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Vaggelis Sklavos (202-F-77) of Pagrati - 11 points and 10 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
