Petros Noeas claims Greek A2 weekly honour - Apr 7, 2013

Petros Noeas
Petros Noeas (204-F-87) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Koroivos and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com A2 Player of the Week award for round 23.
The 25-year old forward had a double-double of 15 points and ten rebounds, while his team beat Pagrati (#8, 10-13) 80-67. Koroivos maintains the 4th position in Greek A2. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Koroivos will need more victories to improve their 16-7 record. Noeas turned to be Koroivos' top player in his first season with the team. Noeas has impressive league stats. He leads league in rebounds with 9.7rpg. Noeas is in league's top in and averages solid 51.5% FGP and 42.2% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 27-year old power forward Savvas Manousos (208-F/C-85) of Doxa Lefkadas. Manousos impressed basketball fans with 32 points and 9 rebounds. Bad luck as Doxa Lefkadas lost that game 71-83 to the higher-ranked Filathlitikos (#1, 19-4). Doxa Lefkadas are still at the very bottom. 19 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Doxa Lefkadas managed to get this year. Manousos is a newcomer at Doxa Lefkadas and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was former international forward Tasos Charismidis (203-F-81, agency: FCM) of Trikalla (#3). Charismidis scored 13 points and grabbed eighteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Trikalla, leading his team to a 73-71 win against #2 ranked Nea Kifisia in a game of the week. Trikalla needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 18 victories and 5 lost games. Charismidis has a great season in Greece. After 21 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.3rpg (9th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Sokrates Gizogiannis (202-F/C-82) of Arkadikos - 26 points and 5 rebounds
5. Branislav Tomic (205-F/C-80) of Koroivos - 19 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists
6. Christos Petrodimopoulos (209-C/F-80) of Nea Kifisia - 14 points and 12 rebounds
7. Babis Samothrakis (189-G-83) of Filathlitikos - 19 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Nikos Psileas (200-F-80) of Agia Paraskevis - 11 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Vassilis Kitsoulis (204-F-83) of OFI - 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists
10. Vaggelis Karaboulas (198-F-81) of Nea Kifisia - 21 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
