Spiros
Panteliadis
Eurobasket is presenting for the first time a special report in regards to the champion teams of the C Division which qualified and will be playing in the second division in the season 2013-2014.
Polis Kallithea- The team of Head Coach Evangelos Petalas (he succeed Panayiotis Zontos who joined forces with AE Livadias) had no problem to win champion and the top seat in the South Group with 41 points and a record of 19-3. The veteran guard Spiros Panteliadis (191-G-77) was the leading figure for the team of Kallithea not only due to his 289 points (14 points per game) but with his overall performance and his leadership skills in the court but also his passion which was obviously, humongous at the age of 36 to still have the same passion and even more to lead his team to the second division and the championship of his group. From a close distance was Panagiotis Makropoulos (200-F-84) in one of the most mature season of his career, the 29 years old forward was the second scorer for his team and the 10th in the group ending his successful season with 290 and 13.5 points per game.

AE Livadia- The team of head coach Panagiotis Aridas at the end was able to win the championship in the second group of the South division and promoted in the second division. With 16 wins and only 4 defeats the team from Viotia ended at the top of the team mainly due to the super scorer Tasos Dimitriadis (204-C-82) who once more prove to be the A to Z for his team. A mature scorer, the experienced center at his 32nd year is better than ever, being the top scorer and the top rebounder of the Group. His 352 points an average of nearly 18 points per game and his nearly 9 rebounds per game gave him the top leading position in both the divisions and at the same time gave to his team the top seat in the league. An old time classic light center who can play both the forward positions can score in the paint and from the parameter with the same ease. The second key to success for the Livadias team was Dimitris Papantoniou (190-G-83), the ex player of AEK Argous in another great season ended with 252 points an average of 12.6 points per game continuing his careers double digits since this is his fourth consecutive season in double digits in both A2 and B Division. The 30 years old guard was the second of a great trio for Livadia, behind Dimitriadis and in front of Vangelis Papadopoulos (205-PF-85), the third top performer of the team who ended the season with 239 points, (an average of 12 points per game) the ex player of OFI was awesome also in the rebounding area as he ended the season with 6.7 rebounds per game. This awesome trio was probably one of the best trio in the overall league.

Ethnikos Piraeus - The second team of Piraeus (after Olympiakos) is officially in the second Division for the coming season after winning the play offs (as the top seated second team from all four groups). The team of Coaches Kligopoulos and Georgakis manage to beat the team of Ionikos and promoted to the second division even though they could have done better in the regular season as their record 17-5 was not the best feasible one having in mind that the two defeats out of five came only in the last three weeks. Having as a top performer an experienced player such as Dimitris Yiannaletsos (203-F-85), the experienced forward ended the season with 14 points per game and together with Themis Fotopoulos (193-F-79) who scored 329 points in total and 15 points per game were the two leading figures of the Piraeus team in the season.

In the North Division now, the First Group had the team of Argonaftis Kalamarias which was the top team and with a record of 18-4 won the league and the promotion to the second division, the team of Coach Georgios Karamousalidis had nearly four players with double digits at the end of the season since the experienced points guard Ilias Kalpaxidis (177-PG-86) ended the season with 314 points an average of 14.3 points per game, followed by Makis Papadopoulos (200-F-82), the experienced 32 years old forward who ended the season with 13.1 points but due to an injure lost the last 6 games. Fotis Zotos (193-G-84), the experienced guard was the third key for Coach Karamousalidis as he ended the season with 10.4 points but also he lost 7-8 games, and the last player who ended the game with nearly double digits was Nikos Koukouras (210-C-80), the veteran center and last transfer for the team of Kalamaria gave 9.2 points per game and 7 rebounds.

AS Pefkochoriou under the coaching of Coach Platis, won the league and the promotion to the second division having the record of 20-4 in the biggest group of the league, in terms of numbers since thirteen teams were participating in the specific group. Top scorer and leading figure for the team of Pefkochori was Alexandros Panagiotopoulos (202-F-80, agency: FCM), the second scorer of the league with his 469 points, a 20 points average per game. The 33 years old forward, an old time classic scorer was the main key to success for his team followed by Dimitris Deligiannis, the point guard who ended the competition with 347 points and average of 14.5 points per game, and it is worth mentioned that both these players were members of the same team last season when the team won the competition and promoted from the fourth to the third division so in two years two divisions. The third key to success for Coach Platis was Nikos Gamouras (202-F-86) who ended the season with 300 points and an average of 13.6 points per game, the ex player of Ermis Lagkada after many years in the A2, decided to agree with Pefkochori and his choice was obviously for his sake since his performance will give him the chance (probably) to look for even better contract. Last but not least, the 4th player who also helped his team to win the league and actually was a member of the team last season with Deligiannis and Panagiotopoulos, is Ilias Mourikis (192-F-81). The experienced forward ended a solid season with 10.7 points per game. The specific quartet of players was the most productive in the league (all four groups) since these 4 players were scoring an average of nearly 59 points the more points than any other quartet in the league.

HANTH was the sixth team to be promoted in the second division after winning at the play offs the other second team of the first group in the North, team of Argos Orestiko with 59-53 in a thrilling game. The team of Coach Petros Gaitatzis, ended the season with a record of 18-6 and the second place. Having as a top figure the ex guard of OFI, Christos Papanikolaou (195-G-85, agency: Interperformances) who ended the season with 12 points per game followed by Giannis Fotiadis (185-G-82) who had 11.1 points per game, the team of HANTH is returning to the second division after a decade.
These six teams will participate in the second division the coming season.
Eurobasket wishes them all the best
