American Wiliam Hatcher (188-PG-84) had a very impressive game in the last round for PAOK and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 20. The 28-year old playmaker had the game-high 24 points adding seven rebounds and three assists for PAOK in his team's victory, helping them to beat Aris (#7, 9-11) 84-72. PAOK maintains the 4th position in Greek A1. They are still close to the very top. PAOK would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 16-4 record. In the team's last game Hatcher had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Wiliam Hatcher averages this season 8.8ppg.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 25-year old American swingman Kevin Palmer (198-G/F-87) of KAOD. Palmer impressed basketball fans with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course KAOD cruised to a 87-75 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Peristeri GS (#13, 5-15). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But KAOD managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 10th place. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-14 record. Palmer is a newcomer at KAOD and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.
The third best performed player last round was another PAOK's star - Kostas Haralampidis (189-PG-76). Haralampidis got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He was another key player of PAOK, helping his team with a 84-72 win against the lower-ranked Aris (#7, 9-11). PAOK is closer and closer to the top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 16-4 record is not that bad... Haralampidis has a very solid season. In 17 games in Greece he scored 13.7ppg.
Other top performing players last week: 4. William Coleman (206-F-88) of Kavala - 16 points and 10 rebounds 5. Marc Antonio Carter (191-G-85) of AGOR - 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists 6. Dimitris Diamantidis (196-G-80) of Panathinaikos - 20 points and 5 rebounds 7. Mouhammad Faye (208-F-85) of Ikaros - 16 points and 12 rebounds 8. Jonathan Mitchell (200-F-87) of Peristeri GS - 20 points and 9 rebounds 9. Larry Turner (210-C/F-82) of Apollon Patras - 8 points and 10 rebounds 10. Aloysius Anagonye (203-F-81) of Ilysiakos - 15 points and 12 rebounds
The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Kostas Tsartsaris (209-F-79) announced retirement. The Greek international player played for the last eleven years to the six star and most successful team in Europe, Panathinaikos, being the oldest member of the team decided to terminate his dreamful career.
Few days ago, and right after the third game against Olympiakos and the 3-0 sweep over the Euroleague champions, Kostas Tsartsaris won the title being among the top performers in the third game (14 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists) , Kostas announced the termination of his careers as a basketball player after this seasons new double.
The Greek forward is leaving Panathinaikos after 11 continuous years being the top rebounder of the the Greens, having won 8 Greek cups in three of which was the MVP of the finals, 10 Greek champion trophies, and three Euroleague champion trophies all with the green jersey of Panathinaikos. Furthermore, Kostas played in seven All star games, while he was international with the Greek NT for 8 consecutive years. Tsartsaris is consider being the most successful Greek power forward in the latest history of the Greek basketball, not only due to his many trophies but also due to his character and low profile as a player, a true gentleman of the European courts.
This season, the veteran player had 5.4ppg, 4.3rpg, and 1.2apg in the green way to the double..
It is worth mentioned that the Greek international power forward was supposed to terminate his career last season but because of Coach Pedoulakis with whom is a very good friends and collaborators persuade him to remain for another one season to the Greens to help them re-build the newly established team after Obradovics era, so he did and he won it all Eurobasket is wishing him all the bet in the new step of his career, whatever that will be.
