American Andre Young (175-G-90) had a great game in the last round for league's leader Den Bosch and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 24. The 22-year old guard had the game-high 20 points adding five rebounds and nine assists for Den Bosch in his team's victory, helping them to crush M.Magixx (#7, 12-14) with 18-point margin 96-78. It allowed Den Bosch to jump to the first place in the Dutch Eredivisie. Den Bosch have a solid 21-4 record. In the team's last game Young had a remarkable 87.5% from 2-point range. He turned to be Den Bosch's top player in his first season with the team. Clemson University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Young is in league's top in assists (2nd best: 6.8apg) and averages solid 2.3spg,58.0% FGP and 41.7% from behind 3-point line.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was -year old American center Antwan Carter (198-C, agency: Court Side) of Weert. Carter impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 15 points and 18 rebounds. Of course he lead Weert to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Amsterdam (#9, 4-22) 101-78. Weert's 8th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 12-14 record. Carter is a newcomer at Weert and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.4ppg (#9). He also registered 8.8 boards per game.
The third best performed player last round was another Weert's star - former international center Kenneth van Kempen (208-C-87, agency: Court Side). van Kempen showcased his all-around game by recording 16 points, six rebounds and six assists in the last round. He was another key player of Weert, helping his team with a 101-78 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Amsterdam (#9, 4-22). The chances of Weert ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 14 games, recording just twelve victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, van Kempen could help Weert to bring them higher in the standings. van Kempen has a great season in Holland. After 22 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.6rpg (#1 in league).
Other top performing players last week: 4. Jeremy Ormskerk (190-G-82) of Amsterdam - 26 points, 2 rebounds and 5 assists 5. Storm Warren (200-F-88) of Den Helder K. - 19 points and 9 rebounds 6. Dejuan Wright (190-G-88) of Den Bosch - 14 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists 7. Bryquis Perine (190-G-88) of Weert - 19 points and 3 assists 8. Jessey Voorn (193-SG-90) of Groningen - 21 points and 2 assists 9. Robbie Sihota (198-F-87) of M.Magixx - 15 points and 13 rebounds 10. Jason Dourisseau (196-G-83) of Groningen - 14 points and 5 rebounds
