Darryl Webb
American Darryl Webb (198-F-88, agency: Pro One Sports) had an amazing evening in the last round for Zwolle and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 31.
The 24-year old forward had a double-double of 25 points and twelve rebounds, while his team crushed M.Magixx (#7, 15-18) with 20-point margin 93-73. Zwolle maintains the 4th position in Dutch Eredivisie. Zwolle is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 18-15 record. In the team's last game Webb had a remarkable 69.2% from 2-point range. He turned to be Zwolle's top player in his first season with the team. Indiana University of Pennsylvania graduate has very impressive stats this year. Webb is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 9.5rpg) and averages solid 53.1% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was -year old American center Antwan Carter (198-C, agency: Court Side) of Weert. Carter impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 28 points and 12 rebounds. It was enough for Weert to edge slightly lower-ranked Rotterdam (#10, 3-29) by 4 points 74-70. Weert's 8th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 15-18 record. Carter is a newcomer at Weert and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.1ppg (#5). He also registered 9.0 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another Weert's star - former international center Kenneth van Kempen (208-C-87, agency: Court Side). van Kempen showcased his all-around game by recording 19 points, fourteen rebounds (!!!) and seven assists in the last round. He was another key player of Weert, helping his team with a 74-70 win against slightly lower-ranked Rotterdam (#10, 3-29). The chances of Weert ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 18 games, recording just fifteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, van Kempen could help Weert to bring them higher in the standings. van Kempen has a great season in Holland. After 29 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.7rpg (#1 in league) and assists with 4.1apg (9th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Dejuan Wright (190-G-88) of Den Bosch - 21 points and 7 rebounds
5. Jamal Boykin (203-F-87) of Groningen - 21 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Samme Givens (195-F) of Leeuwarden - 22 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Robbie Sihota (198-F-87) of M.Magixx - 17 points and 14 rebounds
8. Michael Schachtner (206-F-86) of Leiden - 24 points and 5 rebounds
9. Matt Bauscher (188-G-85) of Den Bosch - 15 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists
10. Robbie Sihota (198-F-87) of M.Magixx - 11 points and 17 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Oudendag's double-double lands him Player of the Week award - 3 days ago
30-year old center Nick Oudendag (210-C-87) put on an amazing game in the last round for Den Bosch and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 2. He had a double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds, while his team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Weert (#9, 0-2) with 18-point margin 81-63. Den Bosch is placed at 3rd position in Dutch league. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Den Bosch won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anyt...   [read more]
