Biesters had an easy evening in Den Helder, routing Dozy with 66-91. The loss ended the hopes of Dozy of reaching the playoffs.

It was all but solid for Lekdektec in the first two quarters of the game. Anouk Biesters (182-G/F-86) paced her team on her way to a near triple double, but had 17 of her 20 points before the break. She was supported by Yordi Kathmann who hit three triples on her way to a 33-55 score at halftime. Leading 11-36 after ten minutes of highly efficient basketball Lekdetec seemed to rest a little, allowing their opponents, paced by Randell van der Lee and Marianne van der Hoek , to still have the feeling being able to turn things around.

After the break that feeling quickly disappeared. Paced by the excellent play of Karin Kuijt who had another impressive double double combining 25 points with 10 assists as the Duchess of Bemmely Hills crushed the hopes of Dozy for any comeback at all. The guests even managed to get their benchplayers on the scoringsheet on their ways to a 49-82 after three quarters but that was about all the inspiration available. In the final ten minutes the hometeam managed to give the score a little better look, but going down with 66-91 still ended their hopes of clinching a playoff berth.

Dozy den Helder: Van der Lee 20 points, van der Hoek 19 points, Schoen 13 points; Anouk Biesters 20 points 11 rebounds, 7 assists 2 steals; Karin Kuijt 25 points 10 assists; Jill Bettonvil 12 points 13 rebounds 2 steals;

It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Grasshoppers. They outrebounded Grasshoppers 35-24 including a 28-14 advanta...   [read more]

Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Dutch players who are currently playing abroad. This week's number one is an international power forward Naomi Halman (191-86). She could not help Lattes Montpellier (18-4) in their last game. Despite Halman's very good performance the fifth-placed Lattes Montpellier (18-4) was edged 72-70 on the road by the lower-ranked (#8) Hainaut in the Play-Off group.    [read more]
