So far this season Bemmel based Lekdetec.nl was able to win at least one game versus every team in the league, except for CTO Amsterdam. That changed this weekend making the run for 3th and 4th please in the league (and thus clinching a birth in the playoffs) highly exciting.

Bart Sengers prepaired his team very well for the clash on their homecourt where the highly energetic hometeam overwhelmed CTO from the start. Lisanne de Jonge was a terror on the offensive board and Karin Kuijt (175-G-90) was leading her team like the real Duchess of Bemmel. After 24-14 in the first quarter CTO managed to contain the hometeam's stormy play a little and the second quarter both teams managed to stay even: 11 a peace for a 35-25 halftime score.

After the break CTO once again had troubles connecting on their jumpers, while Karin Kuijt managed to shut down CTO pointguard Laura Cornelius. Sharon Lammerink who had already proved a big handfull of work for the guests defense broke lose and a spur of three's by Jacobine Klerx, Anouk Biesters and Jill Bettonvil was the deciding run for the hometeam that keeps on alternating big games with dissapointing losses.

In the final stanza both coaches played their benches, making the game all but less interesting to watch. Fenne van der Wielen (lekdetec) and Esther Fokke (CTO) had 5 points in 6 minutes each and talented Laura Westerik had her first points in the highest team. The game was a pleasure to watch and with the score at 83-60 the referees called it a day.
Lekdetec.nl: Sharon Lammerink 19 points 13 rebounds , Anouk Biesters 15 points 6 rebounds, Karin Kuijt 14 points 10 assists. Lisanne de Jonge 10points 11 rebounds;

CTO: Loyce Bettonvil 17 points 8 rebounds; Essenstam 13 points;

Eredivisie Round 3: Royal Eagles hand first loss to Loon Lions - 5 days ago
There were just three rounds played in Regular Season of Eredivisie and we can clearly see which teams will fight for top positions and which will try to avoid bottom places. The most surprising game was a loss of Loon Lions (2-1) in Landsmeer on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by Royal Eagles (1-2) 60-57. It was a good game for center Marleen Peek (194-0) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. Canadian guard Danielle Boiago (170-94, co...   [read more]
