Albacomp gained the first win in the best-of-three quarterfinal series versys PVSK Pannon. The game was mostly controlled by Albacomp. PVSK Pannon managed to win fourth quarter 26-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Albacomp had a 28-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Brandon Wood (187-89, college: Michigan St., agency: N.E.T.) stepped up and scored 30 points for the winners and naturalized American forward Damian Hollis (203-88, college: G.Washington, agency: Two Points) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side American forward Todd Hendley (206-84, college: NC-Wilmington) responded with 26 points and 7 rebounds and guard Peter Kovacs (189-88) scored 14 points and 5 assists. Four PVSK Pannon players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

Szolnoki had little problems against Falco-Szova in the opener. The game was mostly controlled by Szolnok. Falco-Szova managed to win second period 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Szolnok dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Falco-Szova's 34. They outrebounded Falco-Szova 46-28 including a 34-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Szolnok looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Falco-Szova helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Brandon Gay (203-82, college: San Diego, agency: Edge Sports) fired 12 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. International power forward Miklos Szabo (205-86, college: Hofstra, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Five Szolnok players scored in double figures. Forward Tamas Harazin (204-85) produced 15 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Laszlo Kalman (186-72, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) added 8 points and 8 assists respectively for lost side. Kormend players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. The management of Atomeromu SE Paks published yesterday, that they agreed with hungarian NT guard, Andras Rujak (189-G-88, agency: HMS) for the coming season. The 189 cm tall guard spent the last 4 seasons with Sopron KC after playing 3 seasons in a row for EGIS Kormend and spending some seasons with PVSK and Enternet-NTE Hegyvidek in the Hugarian Top Division.
