Fourth-ranked ZTE KK (11-16) made lots of trouble for first ranked Falco-Szova (16-11) in Zalaegerszeg. The visitors from Szombathely managed to secure only three-point victory 83-80. However their fans expected easier game. The winners were led by Laszlo Kalman who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 assists and 4 steals. Falco-Szova's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Falco-Szova maintains first position in Division with 16-11 record. ZTE KK at the other side keeps the fourth place with 16 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Atomeromu maintains second position in Division with 21-9 record having just two points less than leader Albacomp. Loser Jaszberenyi keeps the fourth place with 14 games lost. Atomeromu will face league's leader Albacomp in Szekesfehervar in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Jaszberenyi will play on the road against Kormend and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The best stats of 8th round was 40 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds by Jeremy Wise of Soproni.

Jaszberenyi - Atomeromu 93-95 OT

Fourth-ranked Jaszberenyi (16-14) made lots of trouble for second ranked Atomeromu (21-9) on Saturday. The visitors from Paks managed to secure only two-point victory 95-93. However their fans expected easier game. Jaszberenyi was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 20-17 charge of Atomeromu, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 11-9. Atomeromu made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was international swingman David Vojvoda (196-90, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) who scored 33 points (!!!) (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). American point guard Lorenzo Williams (189-84, college: Rice, agency: Stanley International) chipped in 17 points and 6 assists. Serbian guard Miljan Rakic (195-86, agency: BeoExcell) produced 22 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and Serbian center Rastko Dramicanin (207-86, agency: BeoExcell) added 24 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Five Atomeromu and four Jaszberenyi players scored in double figures. Atomeromu maintains second position in Division with 21-9 record having just two points less than leader Albacomp. Loser Jaszberenyi keeps the fourth place with 14 games lost. Atomeromu will face league's leader Albacomp in Szekesfehervar in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Kormend (12-18) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Szolnok (7-1) 87-75 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 50-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Szolnok made 27-of-31 free shots (87.1 percent) during the game. Szolnok outrebounded Kormend 43-24 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kormend was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was naturalized American forward Rashad Bell (201-82, college: Boston U.) who scored 24 points and 8 rebounds. American guard James Florence (185-88, college: Mercer, agency: Pro One Sports) chipped in 17 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. The former international forward Csaba Ferencz (195-85, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) produced 16 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Kyle Austin (203-88, college: Cal-Riverside) added 18 points respectively for the hosts. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Kaposvari won fourth quarter 23-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American forward Jarrod Jones (205-90, college: Ball St.) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Naturalized American forward Damian Hollis (203-88, college: G.Washington, agency: Two Points) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Albacomp's coach Branislav Dzunic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Falco KC Szombathely announced the extension of their current team captain and home grown player, Benedek Varadi(195-G-95). The 195 cm (6'5") player spent his whole career with Falco. He moved up to the senior team and made his debut in the top league of Hungary at the age of 17. The now 22 year old Hungarian guard is one of the key performers in the import loaded team.
