American Kyle Austin (203-F-88) had an amazing evening in the last round for Kormend and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 21. The 24-year old forward had a double-double of 21 points and twelve rebounds, while his team edged out Szedeak (#9, 8-13) 87-85. Kormend is placed at 7th position in Hungarian A Division. Kormend is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 10-11 record. Austin turned to be Kormend's top player in his first season with the team. Kyle Austin averages this season 23.0ppg and 8.6rpg.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 22-year old Serbian forward Tomislav Ivosev (204-F-90) of Falco-Szova. Ivosev impressed basketball fans with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course he lead Falco-Szova to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked FS Debrecen (#12, 2-19) 130-42. This victory allowed Falco-Szova to move up to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 11-10 record is not bad and everything may still change. Ivosev is a newcomer at Falco-Szova and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.
The third best performed player last round was American Anthony Jones (191-G-84) of Szedeak (#9). Jones scored 28 points and passed four assists. Despite Jones' great performance Szedeak lost 85-87 to slightly higher-ranked Kormend (#7, 10-11). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Szedeak not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 13 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Jones could try to bring Szedeak's a little bit higher in the standings. Jones has a very solid season. In 11 games in Hungary he scored 14.9ppg. He also has 4.9rpg, 3.3apg and FGP: 59.4%.
