Marko Spica
26-year old Marko Spica (205-C/F-86) had a very impressive game in the last round for Kaposvari and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 5 (Second Stage).
He had the game-high 29 points adding four rebounds and four assists for Kaposvari in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Jaszberenyi (#4, 15-12) 96-93. Kaposvari is placed at 3rd position in Hungarian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier in Second Stage. Kaposvari will need more victories to improve their 17-10 record. Spica turned to be Kaposvari's top player in his first season with the team. Central Michigan University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Spica is in league's top in points (4th best: 20.2ppg) and averages solid 62.3% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Filip Barovic (208-F/C-90) of Soproni. He is Montenegrin forward in his first season at Soproni. In the last game Barovic recorded impressive double-double of 31 points and 10 rebounds. It was enough for Soproni to edge the lower-ranked ZTE KK (#-2, 11-15) by 3 points 71-68. This victory allowed Soproni to move up to -5th position in Places 7-13. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 14-12 record is not bad and everything may still change. Barovic is a newcomer at Soproni and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another Kaposvari's star - guard Christopher Dunn (189-PG-83, agency: Court Side). Dunn scored 25 points and passed eleven assists (!!!). He was another key player of Kaposvari, helping his team with a 96-93 win against #4 ranked Jaszberenyi in a game of the week. Kaposvari needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in Places 1-6. Their record at this point is 17 victories and 10 lost games. Dunn has a great season in Hungary. After 27 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.6ppg (2nd best) and assists with 6.6apg (best passer). He also has 2.9spg and FGP: 55.6%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Rastko Dramicanin (207-C-86) of Jaszberenyi - 23 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Roland Hendlein (203-PF-86) of Kaposvari - 17 points and 10 rebounds
6. Lorenzo Williams (189-PG-84) of Atomeromu - 12 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Sead Sehovic (196-G/F-89) of Szolnok - 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Gergely Koertelyesi (202-PF-83) of Atomeromu - 16 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Steven Idlet (210-F-89) of Atomeromu - 11 points and 10 rebounds
10. Miljan Rakic (195-G-86) of Jaszberenyi - 17 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
