Chad
Timberlake
Falco-Szova KC-Szombathely (A Division) added to their roster 29-year old American guard Chad Timberlake (194-84, college: Fair Dickinson, agency: Beo Basket). It is actually his comeback to Szombathely as he played here before. Timberlake played last season at Mitteldeutscher BC Weissenfels in German BBL league. In 30 games he recorded 12.1ppg, 3.1rpg, 3.4apg and 1.0spg. A very spectacular season in his career as he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-German Bundesliga Honorable Mention.
The previous (11-12) season he played at Falco-Szova. In 36 A Division games he averaged impressive 21.3ppg, 5.0rpg, 3.2apg and 1.5spg that season. He helped them to win the regular season and make it to the final. Great season indeed as he was selected Eurobasket.com All-Hungarian League Import Player of the Year, Guard of the Year and voted to 1st Team.
In 2010-11 season Timberlake played at Elitzur Yavne (National League) in Israel. In 31 games he averaged remarkable 20.2ppg, 5.7rpg, 3.3apg and 1.6spg. He contributed to his team making it to the semifinals. A very good season in his career as he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Israeli National League Honorable Mention.
In 2009-10 season Timberlake played at Zalakeramia-ZTE KK. In 18 A Division games he averaged 5.8ppg, 3.2rpg, 1.4apg and 1.3spg. He contributed to his team winning the league title and the cup.
In 2008-09 season Timberlake played at Znicz Jaroslaw (3Liga) in Polish league. In 12 games he averaged 14.1ppg, 2.1rpg, 2.3apg and 2.9spg. A very good season in his career as he was voted to Polish League All-Star Game.
In 2007-08 season he played at Albany in U.S. semi-pro league CBA. In 36 games he averaged great 15.1ppg, 5.2rpg and 3.7apg.
In 2006 Timberlake was drafted by Brooklyn Kings (USBL) in first round (8th overall).
The former Fairleigh Dickinson University star is in his eighth season in pro basketball. Timberlake was voted All-NEC UNAMINOUS Player of the Year back in 2006 at his college time.
Timberlake has played previously professionally in Czech Republic (Novy Jicin) and CBA (Albany Patroons).
The scouts decsribe him following way: Chad is a very talented point guard with good physical size (6'4",208 lbs.) and toughness, he can play the shooting guard position, if that is what is needed for the team. Chad is the floor general with excellent court vision and he is a natural team leader. He can play fast break style or he can run an offense with set plays, whatever is essential to win. He is an extremely athletic guard and gets to the basket, always finishing ha rd. He has the skills to take over games with his scoring and jumping ability. Chad plays intense defense and likes to disrupt offenses with his aggression on defense, creating many steals. He is the type of guard that teammates love to have on their team and hate to play against. He makes his teammates better because of how hard he works and how much he wants to win and will put up statistics to make sure that happens. Chad's unselfish play reflects in his assists, rebounding and scoring. He has a very high basketball IQ and is intensely hard working. He is a born leader and catalyst for team motivation. He is a true professional on and off the court. Chad is very coachable and would be an extremely valuable team leader for any club.
