   #1. This week's number one is an international point guard Jakob Sigurdarson (192-82, college: Birm.Southern, currently plays in Sweden). He led Sundsvall Dragons to a victory over the eighth-ranked 08 Stockholm (16-17) 98-90 in the Swedish Basketligan in Tuesday night's game. Sigurdarson was MVP of the game. He scored 26 points (!!!) and grabbed 5 rebounds in 37 minutes on the court. Sundsvall Dragons (27-6) is placed first in the Basketligan. It's Sigurdarson's fourth season with the team. Sigurdarson belongs to league's top scorers and is ranked #6 with 17.9ppg. He also averaged so far 3.3rpg, 3.1apg, 2FGP: 50.7%, 3FGP: 37.8% and FT: 91.2%(145-159) in the 34 games he played so far. Sigurdarson is currently a member of the Icelandic senior national team.

Second place goes to an international forward Hlynur Baeringsson (200-82, currently plays in Sweden) is a teammate of previously mentioned Jakob Sigurdarson and both played together in the last Swedish Basketligan game. Baeringsson contributed to a Sundsvall Dragons' victory against the eighth-ranked 08 Stockholm (16-17) 98-90. He recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 13 rebounds. Baeringsson also added 8 assists. Baeringsson is ranked first on the list of the best rebounders in the league. He has very reliable stats this season: 14.8ppg, 10.1rpg, 3.4apg, 1.3spg, 2FGP: 57.0%(139-244), 3FGP: 47.1%(41-87) and FT: 71.1%. Baeringsson is in the roster of the Icelandic senior national team.

   #3. The Icelandic player who performed third best last week abroad was an international guard Jon Stefansson (196-82, currently plays in Spain), who plays in the Spanish ACB. He could not help CAI Zaragoza (14-11) to beat Regal FC Barcelona (16-9). Stefansson recorded 7 points in 19 minutes. CAI Zaragoza lost 81-89 on the road to the higher-ranked (#3) Regal FC Barcelona. This year Stefansson averages: 6.2ppg, 2.1rpg, 1.6apg, 2FGP: 44.6%, 3FGP: 30.8% and FT: 81.8% in the 20 games. He is also a member of the Icelandic senior national team.

   #4. Guard Pavel Ermolinskij (202-87, agency: I.D.S. Law, currently plays in Sweden), who plays in the Swedish Basketligan was not able to help Norrkoping Dolphins (4-2) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite Ermolinskij's good performance the league leader Norrkoping Dolphins was crushed 104-80 in Boras by the lower-ranked Basket (#5). He scored 10 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. It's Ermolinskij's first season with the team. Ermolinskij is currently seventh on the league's list of best passers. His overall stats this season are: 9.7ppg, 6.9rpg, 4.4apg and 1.1spg. Ermolinskij is also Icelandic national team player.

Logi Gunnarsson

   #5. International shooting guard Logi Gunnarsson (192-81, currently plays in France) was the main contributor in an Angers BC 49's victory against the closely-ranked CFBB (2-17) crushing them 113-58 in the French NM1 (third division) last Saturday. He was the best player in that game. Gunnarsson scored 29 points (!!!) and added 4 passes in 25 minutes. Angers BC 49 (9-13) is placed 11th in the NM1. Gunnarsson has relatively good stats this year: 12.8ppg, 2.6rpg and 2.7apg in the 21 games. He plays currently for the Icelandic national team.

   #6. Small forward Axel Karason (194-83, currently plays in Denmark), who plays in the Danish Ligaen was not able to secure a victory for Vaerlose (9-12) in their last game on Thursday. Despite Karason's good performance Vaerlose was defeated 98-88 on the opponent's court by the leading Svendborg. He scored 10 points. Karason's overall stats this season are: 10.0ppg, 6.8rpg and 1.5apg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Icelandic National Team roster.

SPO Rouen Basket (ProB) agreed terms with 27-year old American forward Amin Stevens (203-104kg-90, college: Florida A&M). He played last season at Keflavik in Icelandic Dominos League. In 30 games he was second best scorer with impressive 28.6ppg and averaged 16.0rpg (leader !!!), 2.8apg, 1.8spg (in top 5) and 1.1bpg. Stevens helped them to make it to the semifinals. Haukar Hafnarfjordur (Dominos League) signed 24-year old American forward Roger Woods (196-104kg-93, college: UALR). He played last season at BBC Lausanne in Swiss LNA league, but left the team in Feb.'17. In 10 games he had 12.7ppg, 6.7rpg and 1.1apg. Newly promoted Hottur Egilsstadir (Dominos League) landed 23-year old American guard Taylor Stafford (185-82kg-94). He just graduated from W.Washington (NCAA2). In 26 games he averaged impressive 24.3ppg, 5.0rpg, 3.2apg and 1.7spg last season. Stafford helped them to win GNAC Tournament and end the regular season at the top position.
