Anna Martin
-year old guard Anna Martin (175-G) had a great game in the last round for Valur and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 19.
She had the game-high 36 points adding six rebounds and three assists for Valur in her team's victory, helping them to crush Haukar (#2, 13-6) with 22-point margin 91-69. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Valur maintains the 4th position in Icelandic Dominos League. Valur is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 9-10 record. In the team's last game Martin had a remarkable 54.2% from 2-point range. She just recently signed at Valur, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Anna Martin averages this season 25.0ppg and 5.2rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Diamber Johnson (170-PG-90) of Hamar. She is American guard in her first season at Hamar. In the last game Johnson recorded impressive double-double of 31 points and 11 rebounds. Of course she lead Hamar to another comfortable win 92-79 over slightly lower-ranked Grindavik (#7, 6-13) being unquestionably team leader. Hamar's 6th position in the standings has not changed. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 7-12 record. Johnson is a newcomer at Hamar and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.9ppg (#3). Her other stats are also decent: 5.7rpg and 5.4apg.

Third place about best performers goes to Sigrun Amundadottir (181-C/F-88) of KR (#5). Amundadottir showcased her all-around game by recording 19 points, eleven rebounds (!!!) and four assists in the last round. Despite Amundadottir's great performance KR lost 65-67 to the higher-ranked Snaefell (#1, 16-3). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of KR not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 12 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Amundadottir could try to bring KR's a little bit higher in the standings. Amundadottir has individually a great season in Iceland. After 19 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.2rpg (5th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Lele Hardy (182-G/F-88) of Haukar - 21 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Bianca Lutley (180-G-91) of Grindavik - 25 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Nikitta Gartrell (175-G-88) of Njardvik - 16 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Ebone Henry (178-G/F-91) of KR - 17 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists
8. Gudlaug Bjort Juliusdottir (172-SF-96) of Njardvik - 21 points
9. Lovisa Henningsdottir (184-G-95) of Haukar - 14 points and 6 rebounds
10. Gudbjorg Sverrisdottir (180-G-92) of Valur - 13 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
